Reading the first issue- i scarcely know what to say. The idea of teen aged super heroes running an operation if this scale- shouldn’tthey be more worried about school and their social lives? And i’m already not interested in whatever’s going on with miles, and viv. Don’t know much about the locust, though.

As for school... don't you think it's probably a weekend? On a school day, Miles, Sam, Kamala, Riri, Viv and Amka would all be unavailable. Riri attends MIT and the others attend high school. Of the main eight, only Amadeus and Nadia would be free. Amadeus having graduated already and Nadia never having been to school.

Yeah, I agree. If you want to read more about their schooling you can always read their individual series for the ones that have one. This is supposed to be a team book. And with how many characters there are now, it would be hard to show all of their classes anyway.

That's good news there. Zub is in this for the long haul.

No plans for Kid Apocalypse. Zub does want to take the team to Wakanda and hasn't ruled out Shuri (who was apparently recently de-aged per MCU synergy), who "isn't currently on the reserve list".

The X girl joining in #3 is non-white. That should narrow down the possibilities (I won't be surprised if Zub gave that hint now because April's solicit will reveal who it is). Surge is Japanese, so she's still possible.

Someone asked about Champions on Ironheart's letters page, Heartbeats.

I have a question: in the Marvel Ironheart comic, why is there no mention of the Champions?

...as for a mention of the Champions... patience, young Padawan! But part of it is that things are awkward with the Champions at the moment. See Champions #1 for a clue.

So Ironheart's first solo arc must be set after Champions #4 (which does explain why we haven't seen her AI, she doesn't have NATALIE yet in Champions). Did something happen, I wonder? The only clue I can think of is Viv's romantic advances.

Heh, I figured it was worth a shot (I didn't really think Zub would answer that, it can't hurt to try though). Just means Scarlet Spider (either of them) perhaps need to be included in the thinking

The Champions reserves list contained someone it shouldn't have. Issue 3 - part of the same arc that started in #1 - will reference the events of Uncanny X-Men #10. But Honey Badger was among the X-Men who supposedly died there. If she's "dead", she can't be on the reinforcement roster! This also means anyone involved in Age of X-Man can't be the new X girl joining the team in Champions #3.
