You could just as easily insert daddy issues and Zeus bonking everything and the scene would be exactly the same.

They aren't going to do this. Patty and Gal are a proven commodity.

I thought The Suicide Squad was supposed to be a reboot instead of a sequel, even though several actors from Suicide Squad are returning.

It sounds like a soft reboot that is still technically a sequel. Everything from the first movie probably still happened but probably won't be referenced in Gunn's film.

The confusion seems to come from Suicide Squad producer I believe who said the film was a total reboot and Gunn who was asked if it was a reboot or sequel and replied "are those my only two choices?"

How about we call it a relaunch. That's a safe, meaningless word.

They're using some of the same cast but the movie and their characterization will probably be completely different.

    So, yeah, a soft reboot.

I sometimes wonder what would happen if DC were never bought by Warner Bros, and they licensed all their big A-list superheroes like Batman and Superman to other studios like Fox.

Yeah, I'm also not seeing any advantage in that myself.

Fox did have Batman for TV back in the 1960s. For better or worse.

The Wonder Woman pilot by Fox back in '67 is the worst thing ever created based on a DC property by a country mile.

That was indeed bad, Frontier, but the other one still takes the cake, IMO.

Warner Bros. never bought DC. They both were integrated into the same company--DC (actually National Periodical Publications) before Warner Bros. Studios--that company was then broken up in two, after a financial scandal, and the half that had DC and WB became Warner Communications.
