Cyclops was SO DAMN RIGHT, BABY
Pull list: X-23, Mr. & Mrs. X, Extermination, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, Uncanny X-Men
Have been informed that the Black Swans are "only seeking female members, but thank you very much for your time"
If a character is irrelevant for almost the entire story and only does something meaningful in one issue then that character shouldn't be there to begin with or simply be a guest star for said issue.
What Taylor and Marvel did with this book is in my opinion deceptive and disrespectful to the customers, don't advertise something you are not going to deliver in the vast majority of the book's run.
And it's not the first time this happened, Soule did the same in AXM, another big team with big names but just ends up being a Prof X solo with a supporting cast around him.
Team books are not Solo books with a supporting cast.
I reread MMX 6 and liked it more. It is ok but that 1 lame Mags page that Romy fans didn't ever needed is still annoys me a lot.

My thoughts. I'll put them in the review page too.
spoilers:end of spoilers
Ok, so favorite things from this issue:
R&G's sweet kiss - kind of wish they got to test out that bracelet already I'm dying for another "in the sheets scene", Belle calling Remy out on pulling double duty with the Guild and the X-Men and letting Rogue run him, Belle's outfit, the rooftop fight, the party moments with the X-Men - I wanted MORE, a decent attempt at closure with Magneto, Rogue floating upside down - reminiscent of UA and X-Men 45, and the tied up ending reminiscent of Gambit 2012 and well . . . Recently too, they are always tied up! And the 90's era costumes! Yay! Mojo is already cracking me up.
Concerns:
Rogue in the fight. I have literally seen people say she didn't do enough while depowered and other say that she once again stole the show from Remy. Obviously both can't be true. I would have liked to see Remy take out all the Thieves himself this time, but narratively it made sense for Rogue to pull her trump card.
Magneto: I can see why people were feeling mixed about Magneto in this issue. I think it was nice to balance the exes against each other. His initial stoic and cool attitude is fitting of where they left off and have been and the dialogue also established that they are not on the same page in regards to their worldviews. This was helpful for putting closure on them. However I was a little unnerved seeing Rogue opening up to Eric, when she really needs to be saying these things to Remy and being more warm and supportive with him in general. And it was really weird to see Mags encourage her relationship with Remy, who he was pretty disrespectful of in the distant past. Though to be fair, in Legacy they are quite civil to each other and even then he openly acknowledged that Remy loves Rogue while unwilling to say that himself.
The art: It was a bit uneven. Some panels I adored! Others not so much. They did have a great emotional element that maybe wasn't as strong or nuanced in 1-5.
Overall I really did enjoy this issue and it made me excited for #7.
What I want to know is how will these characters feel knowing the other met privately with their ex, even if maybe not planned? Will they tell each other? Their "we need to talk" moment suggests yes and they really need to. This will be fascinating! I'm hoping we see growth from these characters in upcoming issues. Rogue needs to show Remy more support and warmth and openness. She still seems scared to do this and I'm not clear on why she still feels alone in her struggle. Remy needs to be able to state his needs and ask for support, feeling like he deserves it. But it's actually refreshing that these characters ARE struggling with these real human issues. So long as they grow and move forward.

Oh really? Thank you for your feedback. I was really thinking of going back for some old Gambit series books. Although there were some horrendous things that followed after, I started my boycott when Remy was transformed into Death. Sure, I’d pop in here and there to pick up an important issue that came along…but the Death thing did it for me and totally felt like the writers hated him and I couldn’t support it anymore.
Wow! It is the end of an era. Well done Neko! The Gambit Guild is truly one of the great sites and it is amazing how long you kept it up. I was always a frequent visitor and will be sad to see it go!
Legoliz - have you read the the Asmus Gambit solo? That I would recommend! Maybe some other things here and there too, but there were some rough years.
Also, I finally read today’s red and that was an awesome Gambit moment...but I gotta admit, especially after today’s MMX surprise appearance...seeing gambit in that helmet still gives me some heebie jeebies.
I gave in and bought it online cuz my snailmail subscription will take jillion more days. I don't even have #5 yet, Marvel said it mailed out 11/21 and I have to wait 31 days to report it missing.
I have to eat crow now cuz I said Mags would not care, but looks like Kelly made him care, well at least enuf to give Rogue advice
I don't like how far apart Rogue's eyes were, but I got used to it. Oh egads, BellaDonna looked stunning! Dang! And wow we got a complete layout of Romy's loft, yay! Guess the bedroom is upstairs? Nice that it wasn't a holiday theme, but we still got presents for housewarming!
Gosh, there was a lot crammed into that issue. You could almost break it apart and have fleshed out three different issues in there. I'm still kind of processing it and I like how it sowed the seeds for future stories and linked up with what came before. The only scene that didn't sit well with me was, well you know, that one for the reasons already stated.
I just can't get used to that, lol.
His "leading" was just telling Nightcrawler to teleport to the cabin, hid behind Laura for protection and asked Trinary to stop the sentinel. Anyone could have done that, if he wasn't include in that story it would have played out in the same way without him.
"He did stuff in New Orleans" yeah like not being capable of stopping a random dude with a gun without someone dying in the process -.- Nothing that happened there significantly changed the plot of the story, so once again if the NO part was removed, the story would have played out in the same way.
The treatment of Gambit (and many others characters) in Red was completely disrespectful (and also deceiving to the fans) and a couple of cool feats in the last issue won't compensate that fact.
