What is really telling is the GOP and Trumpers are going nuts about the terrorist who was killed at the Capital because she was a veteran. But there is no out rage at all from the Law and Order party or the supporters of the Law and Order President about a police officer who was also a veteran and fought for this country being murdered.

Each time when Republicans have won the White House in the 21st Century, some Democratic members of Congress made similar futile efforts, and weren't removed for it or tried for sedition. So there has to be some kind of neutral principle to establish what makes those attempts legal, and Ted Cruz's bullshit call for a congressional audit worthy of arrest and/ or removal from the Senate.

I hope everyone takes this the way I intend it.

I like my privilege. I like it so much that I want to share it with every person in this country regardless of their ethic, racial, religious, social, sexual, (and so on) identity (or however you want o define it).

Privilege does not being above the law, but the law should treat everyone fairly. And if you commit a crime, then everyone should be punished fairly and equally.

If you are honestly unable to tell the difference here then you really are too far gone. If you can tell the difference but post this **** any way and still defend what happened then you are too far gone on another level.

I know. But I've been on the forum long enough to know that it's futile engaging him and expecting something productive to come of it. So I just read his points and move on.

Not arrest, but doing so after the Capitol was stormed. Using bullshit arguments he knows where lies and only doing so to delay the inauguration, removal is warranted.

Let me ask you this, should Trump be impeached for this an other recent things he has done? (Georgia phone call) Should he be prosecuted and sent to prison if convicted for the numerous crimes he has commited?

I’d argue that it depends what you mean by “productive”. If you mean likely to change Mets in a fundamental way...then it’s unlikely to happen. (But let me be fair..I think most of us rarely change our “fundamental” opinions. Certainly include myself in that.)

But as opposed to that I think the way Mets argues is impressive in several ways. He’s invariably polite, never personalises issues, often quotes interesting facts (carefully selected admittedly) and palpably puts a lot of thought into his arguments.

Usually disagree with his views...but putting that aside...I’d say he’s the sort of guy that ought to succeed in politics, but seldom does.

The differences should be articulated, so that we can establish neutral standards.

You misread my post if you think that I'm defending what happened. Hell, in that post I referred to Ted Cruz's call for a congressional audit as bullshit, which would make it clear that I didn't agree with it. The specific point I was addressing was whether Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley should go to jail. There have also been calls for their removals, so I'm considering that point as well.

Questioning whether two Senators should be arrested is different from suggesting that what happened is okay. I hope that you guys aren't so far gone that you can't see that distinction.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

I did misread and I am sorry for that. You did call Cruz attempt bullshit. I am sorry. But posting those links to compare the two when in my mind there is no way to compare those protests and Howley and Cruz protests. It did make it seem to me like you were defending and calling it the same. That is on me.
