Happy New Year to the Champions .
May you survive being Outlaws .
Honestly just want the OGs Viv, Amadeus, Kamala, Sam and Miles back if we're rebooting again for 2020, not that anyone was bad persay just the group expanded way too much way too quickly and it was hard to care about any of the new additions.
Maybe bring back Dust, also give Miles his own code-name already Marvel, scenes where him and Peter are calling each other both Spiderman are just silly.
It's like I get the sentiment and intention behind it and made sense when he was in a different universe where Peter was dead/retired but it's like you can drop it now.
Marvel never going to retire Peter, and Miles will never replace him so why saddle him with name that just emphasises how he'll always be secondary instead of giving him an identity he can call his own.
He would have the drop Spider motif wholesale to get a point like that across and thats definitely not happening, he's been on Earth 616 since 2016, its 2020 now its too little too late to start considering other options, for better or worse this is his place in the legacy of Spider-Man.
And there is already a precedence of co-opting a hero mantle, heck up until recently we had 3 Spider-Men and i couldn't care less that they all have the same hero name
And Into the Spider-Verse cemented Miles' place as "Spider-Man" if the comics didn't already do that, Marvel isn't gonna release Miles Spider-Man movies then ask you to pick up Tarantula Teen at your local comicbook shop.
I'm pretty sure Dust would have been gone after issue 12 even if the book hadn't been cancelled anyway - she was only ever on loan for the duration of Rosenberg's X-Men. Hickman has all X-Men at his disposal.
We know that Ewing starts out with the team as Zub left it - Incoming only featured the ones who joined before issue 21, and Outlawed uses everyone except for Dust, based on the preview. But yeah, the team will surely lose some people.

There will never be a point when people say Spiderman and immediately think Miles, on this forum alone no one would ever use it when referring to him as we know everyone would immediately think we're talking about Peter.
Characters much older and who've held title's far longer have successfully transition and been rebranded the same would be true of Miles especially with his ownership of his current one being so weak.
Yeah, prime example, Robin. That was Dick Grayson for more than 40 years. Then he became Nightwing. Nowadays when people say Robin, they mean either Tim Drake or Damian Wayne, unless they're talking about Teen Titans Go (whose Robin is Dick because it's based on an older cartoon that was in turn inspired by New Teen Titans, which ran for four years before Dick became Nightwing).

The only thing that would come from Miles being anything other than Spider-Man would be a huge drop in popularity. The only people who are troubled by him being Spider-Man are people who don't care for the character. All Miles needs is to stop having concepts derivative of Peter forced on to him and have his actually character and supporting cast respected.
And thats a-ok, that would still be the case even if he was running around in his own universe as Spider-Man, he would still need to specified as Miles. And even if he needs to be specified, so what? This isn't the Highlander, we have 2 Scarlet Spiders too, its just a thing in the Marvel Universe. i would expect to see Johnny Storm and Kate Bishop on the chopping block before Miles ever is. And no "Better Hawkeye" is not a different name from Hawkeye. Peter acknowledge him ad Spider-Man, his peers acknowledge him as Spider-Man, other heroes in the community acknowledge him is as Spider-Man, its been ingrained to the character from his inception, it is meant to be his identity, not a very long beginning footnote before jumping to something else.
I would call that a fair point if Dick was the one Robin, but its now long standing tradition that any and all Robins will eventually graduate from the role, some may be in the role longer than others, but they all eventually move on.
And the funnist thing is for all the famous ones there is always some strange caveat to it, Dick just took a name from a Kryptonian hero, Jason took Joker's (maybe who knows at this point) old name, and they can't seem to let Tim stick with a single name for too long, and not a single one of them is original. Can't wait to see what Damien eventually gets saddled with.
Miles being Spider-Man in his own right is fine in the comics, he has his own isolated, independent, adventures from Peter, although it seems like a pain to integrate into adaptions.
At least he didn't get "Brawn'ed" like Cho did.
