She had held up her end of the bargain and was going to leave that rock with her entire person whole.

What was worse, he himself had no idea that time moved faster than in her universe. She gritted her teeth. Dread and fear were creeping into her features.

There was no way she could get out of it. They had agreed that she had a year to retrieve the amulet and return it to him. To her, only a week had past, if that. To him, the full year had elapsed some time ago. In her mind, the fact that the amulet was in her universe meant that her universe's flow of time should have been adhered, rather than his. That was her last hope.

"The amulet was in my home of Universe 15. It's unfair to require me to adhere to your universe's timeflow when the amulet is in a completely different universe. There was no way I was going to be able to complete the task in time. Neither of us knew of the time difference, so regarding my mission a failure because of that is unfair."
    He smiles.

‘Fair. I was jesting anyways. You panic quite prettily, Princess.’

He floats the amulet to himself. Another tune from his flute follows.

Parsley's expression was dead pan. He was just joking. Joking about someone's wellbeing wasn't a brand of humor she found amusing, especially coming from someone who had proven himself rather fickle about a lot of thing.

She let out a quiet sigh. "Okay, then. Before we set about leaving, I need to ask you something, if that's alright?"

The bustle about the place kicked up in moments. Zaofan leaned against a wall, nodding sagely as the two worked meticulously. As the place straightened up, it struck him how precise the deed was done.

They say cleanliness is next to godliness. I don't know how literal that is, but the first part of order would be discipline.

Perhaps it was a mundane task, its scope duplicitously large in its scale. The shattered terrrace and buckled columns were only part of it, the many labours needed to maintain the place went right into the little minutae. The task of precision, therefore, was no mean feat; Just as a dojo needs clean floors, the kitchen needs empty sinks and clear counters, so it was here on top of the Earth.

They weren't ready, not yet. None of them were. The truth, however, was that there were no shortcuts, even in a mad, desperate scramble for power. When strange and powerful things crept in out of nowhere, he knew just how easy it was to notice your own agency slipping away, and how small you'd become in the face of it.

However, what everybody could do, even the smallest among them, was become better than they were yesterday. Improving little by little, even in things like this, was part of the practice.

The martial way, after all, was inseparable from one's way of life. Fighting Spirit was just another part of their will to act.

Meanwhile, Arthur’s soul stirs and appears to Ochazuke.

“A few souls have escaped, or tried to, due to chaos. Auroc, the Wolf God, and other powerful foes have been sent to their demise in a short span of time. Not only that, Sheki’hinah and Sihn were both preoccupied for a time when Stine and Hammer attempted to kill them both, further adding to an already hectic system. Either they helped facilitate some leaving or some few took the chaos as opportunity, we know not. About a half dozen so far are not accounted for.”

“As to my murderer, I have completed the task only recently while you were away. I know Sakin’s planet’s location.”
Ochazuke considered Arthur's counsel, folding his arms as he mulled over the words.

"Suppose it is to our benefit that you have one foot in the realm of the living and the dead," he mused, "to have a firsthand view from a man on the inside, intriguing."

The way he described the confrontation there in this afterlife station, it was almost as if he had been an eyewitness to it. "We wouldn't be so fortunate as to have your assistance in combat, would we? Far be it from a departed Guardian to defy the natural order of things."

Still, the Stalker made one; at least six others had escaped, but by what means who could say? "I don't suppose there is some means to speak to either Sheki'hnah or Sihn directly? Evangeline has only just come back to us, but the transmission of wicked souls is not a matter to take lightly."

The second matter in their conversation loomed larger. Indeed without knowing the Fallen Angel's name, it had been hanging over their heads for just over five years now.

"We know Fife fell to his parasite. Our world, and who else knows how many others, he knows their capability. It stands to reason that since we threw off his hold on this world, he knows the threat we present, and his world moves outside of a fixed orbit."

He'd tried to make prey of Guardians, but for what reason? All he knew from his encounter with Islay was that they stood above the office of Creator and Destroyer.

"You fought him once. What are the chances that we can kill him?"

Default DBM Tundra: Queen's Triumphant Return, Part 1

Sarada’s First Race ship cut through space silently. She felt mentally exhausted, but physically, she was reinvigorated and refreshed. There was so much on her mind from the last several days that she was having trouble wrapping her brain around it all. It didn’t help that there were more holes in the information than she cared to realize. She hated that Parsley and Inanna were keeping things from her, but it sounded like they barely understood everything going on themselves.

I guess we’ll all have to figure things out together. She preferred it that way, to be honest. It wasn’t fair that only a select few got to understand the full breadth of intel, while the others only got to realize that anything was even happening until after the fact or when that shit was hitting them in the face. She was, of course, referring to Praxat and Dash as far as the latter circumstance went. They had zero issues leaving those two in the dark on a lot of things until they absolutely needed to know. Yet, when the same was done to them, suddenly it was a big fucking deal that needed to be acerbically hashed out. She didn’t like it, but she at least understood why Inanna decided to keep the location of the Palantines from them. If Alakazah found at least one of them, there was no telling what he would do to find the rest. At least Inanna would be able to get away more easily than the rest of them.

    Maybe.

The entire thing left a bad taste in her mouth. There was a better way to handle it than just throwing out accusations and all that shit. They were all adults; they could have handled it better. And by that she meant, naturally, duking it out. Of course they’d also be talking it out, but those words would be punctuated with fists, not periods.

Whatever. She had other shit to worry about. Like the state of Tundra’s empire. 350 worlds - well, 349 right then - all of which with slaves that needed to be liberated. It was a lofty goal. It took the Saiyans half a millennia to acquire the two hundred empty planets that were in her rolodex. They were going to need help. I’ll call Enoki when I get home and get the GP in on this. It’ll take years otherwise.

She would need to discuss it with the council. Once they had a plan they all agreed on, she would bring Enoki and the GP in to get them in on it. A project of that magnitude required that everyone involved be on the same page at every step.

There was then Sadala. She hadn’t had the chance to do any exploring before Tundra showed up, but she was intrigued. The history of the Saiyan race prior to Glacier’s arrival was there. Modern historians only had records starting during their slavery. Vocado’s journals only had scarce details about Sadala. Getting the full story from those temples was vital to their progression. Understanding their past would help them better prepare for the future.

There was also the matter of the throneworld. Before, she was considering not using a wish to bring back Vocado. The more she thought about it, the more she was leaning in that direction. Vocado wasn’t built on the blood and bones of the previous race, but it had been stained by the five hundred year long reign of terror and tyranny that Tundra and Otatop spearheaded. That much blood couldn’t be washed out, no matter how much good will they did. The only way to move forward was to completely abandon it and build a new throneworld. That time, she was going to make sure history didn’t repeat itself.

Those three things were the main priorities that weighed the heaviest on her mind. Then, there were the remaining Ulthan, Alakazah, Genesis, Sakin, and whatever else was hiding out there. It seemed that there was so much shit to deal with and only so much time to deal with it.

Heavy was the head that wore the crown. Sarada’s heart had been weighed down by so much ever since she took the throne. Without the council by her side - specifically Maiz’s gentle hand guiding her - she would have drowned under all the stress years ago. As it stood, she was only incredibly stressed out. Not ideal, but better than being completely overwhelmed.

She took much of the trip explaining to her brother everything they needed to do. It was important that he understood that he was going to have a role to play as well. They all had one. It was going to have to be all hands on deck from then on. They had three projects to work on for the foreseeable future: the liberation of Tundra’s empire, the exploration and study of the planet Sadala, and the construction of a new throneworld.

The first could be handled by the army. With six Super Saiyans - two of which being Super Saiyan 2s - made that a very doable mission. With the Galaxy Police’s help, it would maybe take them a year or two, but no more than three. Hopefully. That was a very liberal and generous estimation, but she was assuming Tundra’s army was around the same level. Assuming he didn’t have anymore ultra powerful henchmen like Letchee and Daroga, then it would be no problem.

The second mission could be handled by Langal. Most of the Turrip Saiyans were living on Langal, so those intellectuals could combine their brainpower to devise the best possible plan to observe and study the world and native Saiyans without agitating them. She wanted a thorough report, because she wanted to know everything about that world. Of course, it would have to take place after she made the wish to restore the planet to its state prior to her fight with Tundra.

Lastly, the construction of the throneworld would be their longest and most expansive project. She initially intended on taking the construction unions from each world so they could combine their efforts. Even still, it was going to take years. Vocado’s own crew took three years to build Nion to replace the Meat Market. She figured that, combined with the efforts of five other worlds, plus whoever was able-bodied and knew even a little bit about construction in the new colonies, it would take... maybe five years or so. She didn’t know, but it wouldn’t take nearly as long as it would have if they had to rely on machines. Most of it they could do by hand.

After that, she moved on to what she did within Tundra’s palace while Pinach was liberating the villages.

    She wished she hadn’t.

“The only other option I had was to adopt it and try and raise it right.”

Pinach looked at her incredulously. “You? Adopt a Frost Demon baby?” He laughed, first softly, then growing into a full guffaw. “They would literally drag you off the throne AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!”

“It’s not that funny,” she gritted.

“What? Were you gonna tuck him in at night? Let him call you his Little Monkey Mama?” His laughter persisted, even in the face of a Sarada who was growing steadily enraged at being laughed at. “Ah man! You crack me up.”

She slugged him in the arm, then looked up when the automated piloting system beeped. “Looks like we’re coming out of hyperspace.”

    “Awesome! I’m starving!”

The ship jostled and shook for a brief moment as it exited hyperspace. Langal was already in view. She already knew that her baby girl was there, safe and sound in Pois’ care, as were Mais and Garnish. All in all, everything had turned out for the best. She intended on going... somewhere with some dragon balls to wish back everyone who died during Tundra’s attacks, as well as undoing the damage done to Sadala. The damage done to Ruco would have to be resolved the old-fashioned way. “Hey, listen. Don’t-”

“Yeah, I know. Don’t say anything about the kid. ...you know, no one would have cared that you killed some Frost Demon kid. But it's good you didn't. Every child deserves a chance to make something of themselves.”

    Sarada smiled and nodded. “Thanks.”

“It's definitely something Just Saiyan would do!”

    That smile faded immediately.

The ship approached Langal and started its automated landing procedure. Sarada and Pinach strapped in to rode out the rough jostling from the ship entering the atmosphere. Unlike Icia, where she felt giddy excitement, she felt nothing but exhaustion now. The fight with Tundra had taken everything out of her. She was physically fine, thanks to Corra and Parsley, but mentally... she needed some time off. She was in no position to organize anything. All she wanted to do was hug her daughter, kiss her wife, and crawl into the nearest bed or bed-shaped object and sleep for about a week. Kissing Inanna would have to wait, sadly.

The ship landed in the landing docks. Immediately, Sarada and Pinach exited via the gangplank. The former breathed in and let out a content sigh.

She was home. Langal was home, for right then. At least until the new throneworld was built.

“Your Highness, Prince Pinach, welcome back,” a man guarding the dock greeted with a wide grin.

She smiled and nodded. “Keep an eye on the TV,” she said before she and her brother took off for the palace where the viceroy lived.

The moment their immense power pinged on people’s senses, they started to gather around them. This resulted in the two Super Saiyans being followed by a massive crowd of people numbering in the thousands.

Word spread quickly. When Sarada touched down on the palace balcony, she found reporters and cameras were already there and poised to catch every word she had to say. I guess they were here to interview the viceroy. With Pinach behind her and the thousands of Saiyans in front of her, Sarada spoke.

“My fellow Saiyans,” she said loudly and proudly. She fiddled with the capsule and opened it. She held up the severed head of the fallen Arcosian despot high so everyone could see. “WE WON!!”

Two words elicited thunderous applause and cheers that shook the balcony. “SARADA! SARADA! SARADA! SARADA!”

Default DBM Tundra: Queen's Triumphant Return, Part 2

Hearing the crowd roaring her name in celebration, and knowing that everyone else was doing the same on the other worlds had her choking up. She didn’t shed any tears; she had a reputation to uphold, after all.

She raised her hand, prompting the raucous and thunderous cheers to gradually die down. “Tundra and his army tried to bring war and death to our worlds. You all showed those weak fools the folly of trying to fight a Saiyan! You showed the entire galaxy beyond the shadow of all doubt that the Saiyans are still the strongest race in the universe!!” Another round of cheers thundered. When it died down, she continued. “I faced their leader myself. He was a lot stronger than I anticipated, but we relish quality competition, don’t we? He tried his damnedest to end my life, and should have succeed three times. But Queen Sarada bows to no one, not even death itself! I’m still standing, still breathing! I defied the hand of death and secured our safety once and for all!!”

She allowed time for the third round of cheers and applause before continuing. “But now isn’t the time to rest on our laurels. There’s still plenty to do. Over the next few days, soldiers on all worlds will be receiving assignments to travel to the various worlds in Tundra’s empire. This may seem familiar to many of you. Instead of conquests, you’ll be sent on liberation missions to free the worlds that have been trapped under Tundra’s thumb for years. You’ll be working be working the Galaxy Police. Now is the start of our reformation and abandon the beliefs that Otatop’s propaganda instilled in us! But for tonight, eat and drink and celebrate with your friends and family. We’ve earned it!!”
Sarada turned and walked back into the palace, cascaded by a tidal wave of joyous chants and cheers. A warm smile was touching her lips as she headed inside. It had been a long day, but it was over. For the first time in years, she felt like she could finally relax, at least for a little while.

She caught sight of Maiz hugging Pinach tightly and slowed to a stop.

“I'm so glad you're okay,” he said, his words muffled due to his face being buried in her shoulder. “But Rutaba's dead.”

It hadn't dawned on her how that would affect him until she heard how broken up his voice was. They were like siblings, always together no matter what. Seeing him there and knowing that Rutaba wasn't somewhere nearby was jarring, to say the least.

“I know. But we'll see her again very soon. I promise.” Maiz smiled and touched his face, then leaned up to ruffle his golden hair. “Look at you. You're a Super Saiyan.” She hugged him again, even tighter than before. “I'm so proud of you, son.”

Sarada smiled and left them to enjoy the rest of their moment together.

Pois was waiting for her, a fussy and agitated baby in her arms. “Welcome back, Your Highness.”

“Thank you, Pois.” She patted her on the back and graciously took the baby in her arms. “Hell~o,” she cooed, using her tail to gently tickle the little girl’s nose. Her baby giggled and grabbed at the furry appendage. “Hm, nice grip for an infant.”

She wasn’t very familiar with Langal’s palace, but she did know where the master bedroom was. As they walked, Pois informed her that it was ready, should she decide to remain. She wasn’t sure where she was going to stay until the throneworld was complete. She was leaning toward Ruco since she already had a home there.

“Tell Botarega to open the portals.” With the army gone, there was no reason to keep people separated from their families and friends anymore. “Tell the council to assemble here by tomorrow. We have a lot to discuss.”

“Yes ma’am.” Pois turned on her heels and left to do exactly that.

Sarada slipped inside the bedroom. It wasn’t nearly as nice as hers on Vocado, but it would suffice. The bed was large, as was the dress and full-length mirror. There was a recliner in the corner, which she sat down in. Kumara continued to play with her tail as Sarada rocked her slowly. A warm feeling spread through her chest. She smiled to herself and let her eyes flutter closed.

Finally, after so many days of fighting and worrying, Sarada could finally rest.

"'Halfbreed'...his name is Totoma," Ochazuke said. Despite all they'd been through together, there still remained a particular something about Princess Nevanlinna's manner that curled his brow and the corners of his mouth downward when she spoke.

Of course, at the mention of Simon Battersea, a silence seemed to still the air of the Lookout, and in an instant, Zaofan appeared out of seemingly nowhere.

"No. No, no, no, no," the Chef stammered, rolling up his sleeves as a white aura flashed about his person with such intensity the rubble surrounding them began to shudder. "He's back? How? Why?!"

Ochazuke bowed his head for a moment, his eyes layered in shadow as he considered his response.

"Years ago, he presented himself as champion of this world by brute strength. It was through an ill-gotten gain that suit his blusters, a murderer of his fellow men. His name once carried a great deal of weight behind it, but now..." He looked over to Zaofan for a moment, before his gaze drift back to Arthur, "Now, I hear only the name of a man who should have remained dead."

For his part, Zaofan had pulled out his katchin staff and had already been warming up, its black metal whistling about him in a tight fluorish.

"I don't know how he got out, but he's not done yet. Let's stick him back in."

She was doing any more deals with Night. "A favor in exchange for answering my question? No thank you."

She wanted to know why Night was spying on Sarada, but not so much that she was willing to screw herself over again.

“I can potentially help. Guardians are capable of...some leeway in the afterlife. A few of us more magically inclined can earn a pass of one day to return to the living world. Unless you meant help as I am now. Possibly, though it would be limited.”

“I can get you a meeting with Sheki’hinah or Sihn most likely. Earth is well regarded by both, as is Eva.”

“Killing Sakin? Angels are beyond Gods and Mortals alike. Killing him? No, but that does not stop entrapment, depowering, or banishment. Or some other means of stopping him. Sihn has long sought him out to bring him to justice for his crimes, and as far as I know is the last on his cosmic list of those who rebelled and fled.”

That... was more acceptable, depending on what his question was. With hope, it wasn't one that required a revealing question, but there was no way to know for sure with this person. "Deal. My question is why did you ask the Majin hidden away in the Rookery to spy on my sister's throneroom?"
