Yeah, seems like a joke to me. There had been references to Batman as a fictional character before and after that.
Quite enjoyed Felicia's portrayal in Symbiote Spider-Man, as well as the unique choice to visit Peter in just her causal clothes and give his regular side a chance to "prove" to him she wasn't outright obsessed with just Spider-Man. Learning of Uncle Ben and meeting May were nice touches, it's strange but wasn't May still 'shipping Peter with MJ around this phase of time? I recall when she met MJ again to discuss Peter dropping out of college she said she'd hoped Peter and her would get together...and now we find she knew Peter was dating someone else at the time. Maybe that prompted that part of the discussion?
It makes me feel a little bad for Felicia though, knowing that at the time she likely took these moments of getting to know Peter' and his world for granted, and probably didn't really begin to appreciate this until much later. It might also have informed some of the resentment and rejection she felt for Peter after she ended the relationship and he wound up marrying MJ...the fact he HAD opened up his world to her, telling her personal things of his past, getting to know his relatives etc
Does Felicia getting that guy mauled count as pre-meditated murder or justifiable homicide?
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
Dude was an accessory to kidnapping a kid, and crimes against kids usually take priority. However, the kid is part lizard so... it could go either way. The jury might think he's a Mutant or something.
I did like that Felicia gave him the evil eye, and I've now decided that she's a fan of Dio.
Spectacular Spider-Man#90 is "recommended reading" for the FCBD Spider-Man story.

This story follows the events of Secret Wars #12… Spotlight on the Black Cat! She’s looking for her on-and-off lover Spidey, but what she finds is going to change her relationship with him forever!
It seems to me that it's being referenced because it's an aftermath to Secret Wars, and alot of the talk about Absolute Carnage has mentioned about there being references to the beginning of the symbiotes appearance, so I think it'll end up being less the Black Cat connection, and more the black suit connection.
