Thanks to Sersi, they pinpoint Yon-Rogg's location to Carol's brain.

Carol realizes that Yon-Rogg has become one with the Psyche-Magnitron, including the shrapnel in her head.

Okay that is kind of mean of the Avengers to track Sersi like that and make her use her abilities to help them when she doesn't want to be located.

Makes sense to me to treat the comicbook character Sersi in that manner since this issue the Assholes Assemble: Earth´s Morbid Zeros!

    Avengers #176 Oct 1978
The Korvac Saga: Part 9 of 10 - "The Destiny Hunt!" Guest-starring Captain Mar-Vell, Ms. Marvel and Starhawk.
Iron Man recounts the last few issues to Starhawk, who agrees to help him look for the Enemy.
Moondragon meditates and thinks she has a piece of the puzzle.
On her way to discuss it with the others, she encounters Quicksilver arguing with Hawkeye about the propriety of
Wanda and Vision's marriage, and Moondragon peremptorily alters Quicksilver's mind to free him of this prejudice.
    Moondragon summons the Avengers mentally.

Elsewhere, Wasp and Yellowjacket are listening to the ants, who tell
them about an unusual storm, which they claim was psychic in nature!

Others also start picking up slight clues, and then all are called back to Avengers Mansion.

Iron Man feeds the clues into a computer, and they determine the disturbances are coming from... Forest Hills?
Not able to use a Quinjet, they commandeer a bus.
Thirty-three minutes later they arrive at the consternation of the local home-owners.
Michael answers the door and allows the Avengers in.
However, Starhawk fails to perceive Michael and finally demands the Avengers explain why they're playing tricks on him.

Suddenly it dawns on everyone that Michael is not who he appears... and saddened
by the necessity, Michael declares that for their meddling the Avengers must die!

    Ms. Marvel #20 Oct 1978
"The All-New Ms. Marvel" First appearance of the navy-blue and gold Ms. Marvel!
Having fashioned a new costume as Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers is interrupted when Frank Gianelli arrives with some troubling news.
He tells her of how Sharon Cole, one of Woman Magazine's reporters sent out to New Mexico, has gone missing
and all that has been found was her tape recorder, with a message that suggests that something has captured her out in the desert.
Going to investigate, she finds that the military is not interested in speaking to her
and so she has a police officer take her out to the site where Sharon disappeared.

There, Carol finds a number of destroyed military vehicles along with Sharon's car.
When the police officer disappears, Carol transforms into Ms. Marvel.

This is in the neck of time, as she is quickly attacked by members of the Lizard People race.
After a battle their leader Aracht'yr determines her to be unique among the humans they
have encountered to date and as the dawn rises he tells his soldier Haemon to knock her out.
Haemon complies with an eye beam blast that is strong enough to render Ms. Marvel unconscious.

The Lizard People then take her to their home, a secret civilization hidden in the mountains of the Arizona desert.

Dave Cockrum and Bob Wiacek art. Chris Claremont script.

    "I Want to be an Avenger!" Part 1 of 2. Guest-starring Spider-Man.
Upon learning that Avengers earn $1,000 a week, Spider-Man pays a visit to their headquarters and tries to sign up,
but is sent on his way when a priority alarm sounds. Seeing the team's quinjet rocketing off on a mission,
the web-spinner stows away and thus joins Captain America, Starfox, and the She-Hulk as they investigate
a disturbance at Project Pegasus. On arrival, the heroes are briefed by the project's new security chief, the Guardsman,
who tells them how an attempt to sink a magma tap resulted in an attack by the subterranean Lava Men.

    Cap sends for reinforcements,

and the Wasp, the Scarlet Witch, and Captain Marvel swiftly arrive.
Fortunately, the Lava Men mistake Captain Marvel for a revered figure
of legend, the Lady-of-Light, and she is easily able to arrange a truce.

Unfortunately, four of the superhuman criminals imprisoned at the project have taken
advantage of the confusion to escape their cells and now plan to seize its nuclear research dome.

Cameo appearances by Blackout, Electro, Moonstone and the Rhino.
Avengers Lineup: Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Starfox and the Wasp.

Script by Roger Stern. Art by Al Milgrom (breakdowns) and Joe Sinnott (finishes).

Ms. Marvel #20 should have been the start of something big for this book. The art was incredible, but I don't think the lost city of dinosaurs was a great choice story-wise. Cockrum's second issue suffered from what I assume was a rush ink job by Al Milgrom. And then Cockrum was gone, Mike Vosburg took over -- and the book was probably already scheduled to be cancelled at that point. And, the worst was yet to come (in Avengers).

    Captain Marvel #7 Nov 1968
    "Die, Town, Die!"
Teleported to the Kree home world, Mar-Vell is put in a truth chair and put on trial by Ronan
the Accuser, over Mar-Vell's recent mission to Earth wherein he destroyed the SOLAM weapon.
Mar-Vell manages to convince Ronan that he did so because in letting the
Solam creature run rampant on Earth would have put his mission in jeopardy.
Ronan accepts this testimony and allows Mar-Vell to return to Earth.
However he is sent on a mission to unleash a virus on a human town as a show of his loyalty.

Yon-Rogg attempts to kill Carol Danvers with Kree weapons, however -- as anticipated by Yon-Rogg -- Mar-Vell comes to Carol's rescue,

and Yon-Rogg uses the moment to fuel the seeds of jealousy in Una's mind. Mar-Vell agrees to help Carol investigate "Walter Lawson",

however he uses the finger prints she gives him to make his match the ones Carol has on file, cementing his cover as Lawson.

When Quasimodo attacks the Cape hoping to collect the computation power generated by the
linked computer system Mar-Vell used to defeat Solam, he uses his powers to bring machines to life.
Mar-Vell drops his Lawson guise to fight Quasimodo as Captain Marvel.
During the fight, Mar-Vell is led to a theme park filled with animatronic machines modeled after humans in the 1890's.
When Mar-Vell defeats Quasimodo, he unleashes the virus he was given on the
town of animatronic robots, giving the illusion that Mar-Vell had completed his task.

While Yon-Rogg is furious that Mar-Vell "completed" his mission, his attempt to make Una jealous of Carol Danvers,

slowly starts to take hold over Una, in spite of her attempts to dismiss the possible attraction between Mar-Vell and Carol Danvers.

Script by Arnold Drake, pencils by Don Heck, inks by John Tartaglione
