    Default Earthling Photography

Created this thread to share some samples of the people pix I've been fortunate to take.

I'm not the best photographer but I love doing it when I have the opportunity... especially love taking photos of people around the world.

I'll post a few selections from my various photo sets. If anyone finds interest in a specific set, just let me know and I'll post more from it.

The following is from Comiket in Tokyo. Taken with a Panasonic DMCFZ35 (point and shoot).

For another flavor of photography, here's some from combat skills training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Taken with a Nikon D3000.

Never been an expert on photography, but I'm liking what you've posted. Especially the final two in the Fort Dix set, because of how they capture a moment. Don't get me wrong, I also like the photos of the cosplayers posing, very much so in fact- but I was just struck by the contrast between the two sets. Keep 'em coming! I'm curious to what else you have in your catalog.

Mormel, thanks for your input! I consider that a request and present photos that similarly capture moments. Ironically most of those type of shots are of people in military uniforms, who would've guessed?

Taken at Umm Qasr, Iraq, September 2011 using a Nikon D3000.

From the Tokyo Auto Salon (if you never heard of it: here’s the wiki), months before I upgraded to the world of DSLR photography.

Taken at Chiba, Japan, in January 2010 using a Panasonic DMCFZ35.

Nice samplings, Wedge! I especially like the third one of those Fort Dix photos, with the troops in the mist, and the first one of that cosplayer's set. I like how the shrubbery in the background ends up framing the girl's face.

Neat stuff. Quite the world traveler. Is that because of your job or do you just get around.

My oldest brother does a lot of traveling because of his job. He's been to Japan several times including when the tsunami/earthquake hit which was scary as hell because we couldn't get a hold of him. But it's really neat to hear his Japan stories. And he bring me back Meiji chocolate. I'm not much of a chocolate fan but Meiji chocolate is beyond awesome.
