I honestly thought Slott would be done with the End of Spider-Verse but so much for that really being an ending .

Slott's one of my least favorite Peter writers so him writing Peter again does nothing for me. Watch this "Chosen One" constantly need help or get regularly checked or insulted. I mean, even the description makes it sound like the old constant team-ups or Spider-Team books with all the heroes they list and Peter having what's coming to him.

And I just can't muster any enthusiasm for Morlun or whatever this new villain is like

End of Spider-Verse seems to be the first arc of this. Despite the name it's set up as a team book - the synopsis mentions Miles, Gwen, Jessica, and Cindy. Hopefully after the first arc, the girls will all spin-off into their own titles and Miles's will relaunch, leaving this as a second solo book for Peter.

First time they've been on Spider-Man together though. Both have had long runs before, but Bagley was on Ultimate (written of course by Bendis), not Amazing which Slott was on, so he never worked with Slott on the book.

Bagley had a long run on Amazing Spider-Man first. So long that he said he got burned out and took a break by doing...100+ issues of Ultimate Spider-Man.

Anyways, unrelated to what you said, but I was randomly checking Second Coming, an X-Men story, and in a story after it, in New Mutants#16 vol 3, there's a moment where a baby's skin is partially cut, and the villains there talk about baby mutants like they're just weapons.

And yes, written by Wells.
