They're clearly confident that Shazam will have no further delays - it's already getting reprinted in the Walmart-exclusive Flash Giant. They're starting with the New 52 serial, but that's pretty short, and after that I assume they'll continue with the current series.

    BREAKING NEWS:

DC is going to reprint the 1970s Shazam series in color hardcovers!

Shazam: The World's Mightiest Mortal Vol. 1 is now being listed on Amazon.com for a release date of June 4. It will reprint Shazam 1-18 (336 pages, $49.99)

I would guess a 2nd hardcovr will be released to reprint Shazam 19-35 + the backup stories from World's Finest Comics and Adventure Comics Digest.

Guess the movie has DC wanting to get some Shazam product on the shelves, but they should have timed it for an April release so it's there right when the kiddies come out of the movies.

Oh, well, at least with this and the new Geoff Johns series, Captain Marvel's being given some much needed attention.

Now, maybe Warner Archive can put out a Shazam animated series DVD consisting of the 12 Shazam segments from 1981's Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam. It and Superboy '66 are the only 2 DC animated series in its history yet to get a DVD release.

I really liked it. I'd rather see characters grow and change rather than stay the same forever.

I'm not against it per se, it's just hard for me to imagine Billy Batson as not being a kid.

Billy will always be a kid at heart, that makes him worthy I think.

Although mostly known and shared elsewhere, there is a few other vids out there, this was exceptionally thorough, and really emphasizes how much Fawcett's Captain Marvel/SHAZAM! was really the leader and innovator in many aspects.
Thanks for sharing, I look forward to his part II.

Also just realized that's not Billy?
Likely the young Thaddeus Bodog Sivana, who is tested but not chosen. Yet gets his glimpse into the realm of magic.?

And close up of the Seven Deadly sins.

People seem to be ignoring The Seven Deadly sins will be a part of this.
Sivana is just a vehicle through which the corrupted power (which is actually destroying him, to where he ends up the more Count Orlok looking mad scientist) is being channeled.
The real big bad at the end will be the release of the Deadly Sins, hence Billy has to "share" the power with his family to defeat them.

Close up of the statues above, and a hint of what they will be fighting for real in the third-act big battle.
And it looks like by their redesign, they are channeling some classic gothic type horror monsters.
Not sure why nobody is discussing them, as they are a big part of the Johns relaunch which this is based on. And all the hints are there.
Even CBR is ignoring this, when we get our first hint of what they look like, or people just don't know the source material?

This is going to be fantastic.

"In the lastest chapter of Shazam and The Seven Magic Lands". The kids visit Gameland, a colorful world where all that matters is your high scores! But as good as Eugene and Pedro are with their arcade cred, can they score high enough to survive it?"
