Check the Dark Horse Gallery edition prices if you really want to be tempted I got Robocop vs Terminator for 48 quid and other's are not much more expensive either (although their library is not that big so far, ElfQuest, Sin City, Star Wars, 2 Usagis and Murder Mysteries by P Craig Russel which I'm planning to get).

A place in space on Amazon has some artist and gallery editions for cheap. They might just cancel it like bookdepository did but worth a shot.

Is this a good price for this book now? Has it fallen into white whale status? I've got a copy sat in a giant pile of books I've been too lazy to throw on ebay for a couple months now cos I figured the hassle wasn't worth the potential returns but if this books actually worth something now this might prompt me to get off my backside this weekend and finally do it.

EDIT: If you didn't already take advantage of this, it looks like they did a coupon fix and it no longer will discount 20% off gift cards or pre-orders. Hope someone else scored too while it lasted!

You can get some serious stackable discounts if you get a little creative at Barnes and Noble's website for the next couple of days. Combine Buy 2 Get One Free, 20% Discount, quirk that 20% discount applies to gift cards, and free $10 gift card with each $75 gift card bought. This is great for U.S. customers. Not sure international shipping is worth it.

Here's a breakdown followed by an example. Buy a $75 e-gift card along with three or six books from the B2GOF sale. Use Code BNRMN20 to get 20% off. The subtotal must be at least $40 of non-pre-order books for this coupon to work. However, the discount will apply to the entire total, including the gift card and pre-order books. Wait for the $75 gift card code to appear in the e-mail you sent it to (sometimes takes a few hours). Then, using a different Barnes and Noble account (so you can get a second bonus $10 gift card), make another order. Add another $75 gift card along with the same $40 subtotal requirements as before. Apply code BNRMN20. Use the gift card you received to pay for as much as you can. (You can't buy a gift card with a gift card, so you'll have to pay $75 and there'll probably be some left over on the card.) Submit that order. Then make another order using the new $75 gift card card and the remainder left on the first one.

Here's how that works in practice:

    First order:
    Supergirl by Peter David $15.05
JLA Silver Age Vol. 1 $13.17
    JLA Silver Age Vol. 2 $15.06 (pre-order)
    Preacher Book Two $12.18
    Batgirl Vol. 2 $12.66
    Daring Adventures of Supergirl $12.18
    $75 B&N E-Gift Card $75
    =$155.30
    ______________________
    -$24.36 (Two cheapest are free)
    -20% (of everything)
    =$104.75 (with a $75 card card now and a $10 gift card on 12/26)

    Second order:
    Doom Patrol Book Two $19.79
Legend of WW HC $22.74 (pre-order)
Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn $18.06 (pre-order)
Batman: Death & the Maidens HC $20.79 (pre-order)
Flash by Johns Book Three $18.82
    Astonishing X-Men Book 1 $21.08
    $75 B&N E-Gift Card
    =$196.28
    __________________
    -36.88 (two cheapest books)
    -20% (of everything)
=$127.52 (must pay $75 without GC, so use $52.52 of gift card)
(So far have paid $179.75 with $97.48 still remaining on gift cards + $20 in gift cards on 12/26)

    Third order:
    iZombie Omnibus $48.75
    Ms. Marvel Omnibus (2 copies) $103.98 (pre-order)
    Batman: GA Omnibus Two $45.73
Supergirl: SA Omnibus (2 copies) $93.74
    =$292.20
    _____________
-92.60 (two cheapest books are free)
    -20% (of everything)
=$159.68 (use $97.48 from gift cards and pay $62.20)

    All right!
The total amount spent is $241.95. Subtract $2.42 for Ebates cash back (info below) and the total is $239.53. The cover price for all 18 books is $770. That's almost 69% off. Plus you still have $20 in gift cards to use after Christmas. If you don't have in your collection some big whopping books like the Green Lantern by Johns Omnibuses, then you can probably do even better since they are so steeply discounted. Of course, you must be aware that some books may be damaged in shipping. It is B&N after all. That's worth it for me. Also, if you don't pay extra, an entire order containing a pre-order may not arrive until after it's released. Not sure about that though. Finally, if you enjoy re-selling books, you can, for instance, easily re-sell 3 of the omnibuses for $40 each (you paid $25, so just a $15 profit, but make sure you account for fees), and that would bring your total spent to $119.53. That's a whopping 84.5% off the list price for the 15 books you kept. Plus you'll get $20 in gift cards.

Finally, you can save a little bit more (and give me a big thank you!) if you sign up for Ebates through this referral link https://www.ebates.com/r/ELFQUE16 . All you have to do after signing up is search for Barnes and Noble and click on the link to open the B&N site before you place your order. You'll get 1% cash back, and I'll get a bonus for referring a new member. Thanks!

Oh, and you might have to pay tax depending on where you live. Sorry about that.

IIRC, with B&N, the Buy2Get1Free doesn't work on preorders.

In fact, it does work on any pre-orders that are included in the sale. You can view all Buy2Get1Free titles here (with many, many pre-orders included): http://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/dc-a...s/_/N-2kv2Z8q8

EDIT: I did make those exact orders that I described, so it's not just a theory.
