Where as the MunchKING, being far from Average, actually looked it up and would like to point out the World Cup is a 32-team tournament, so of course it gets more views and bets over the course of it than one game.

Maybe they're left handed also, or no one has suggested let's go on the right side so let's keep using the familiar.

Thundermans is a tv show on nick about a family of retired super heroes. It's characterized as for kids, so think of no ordinary family leaving in the suburbs with trying to keep it a secret that they're super humans.
You've had the family tv show of wizards of waverly place where the kids are wizards it's one of those family tv shows with a twist they're biological family and all retired super heroes with a defeated super villain that was changed into a bunny.
So a bit of Sabrina the teenage witch in it also.

I think of it as like modern family but with obvious boundaries put on it. along with a laugh track.

And yet only a million buys for WrestleMania.

I guess that's different though as you have to actually pay for that, rather than just watch commercials.

Have you seen the prices for WWE pay-per-view shows? They cost an arm and a leg, BOTH arms and legs if you want to watch in high definition. No wonder the numbers are so paltry compared to the World Cup or the Super Bowl.

Does Wrestlemania still hold the record for highest attendance (in person) of a single sport event? I believe it was at the Pontiac Silverdome many years ago.

I think that was 1990 when Ultimate Warrior beat Hulk Hogan.

My vision of pro wrestling history is blurry. Was this the start of Hulk turning into Hollywood?

That sounds about right. Hulk defeated Andre the Giant (and bodyslammed him)!

    Oh man old school WWF.
I watched that match on VHS vast times. As a hulk hogan Fan I would watch vast times thinking it would change or hulk would win but nope that was Hogan's kryptonite or the stinker like broncos had vs giants, and redskins.

    Thanks for setting my straight!

I think by the time it happened I wasn't really following the WWF/WWE any more, but when I heard about it I was like, damn, him turning to Hollywood Hulk Hogan is crazy!

it was quite the news...the biggest good guy in wrestling, and the guy credited with bringing pro wrestling into pop culture turns bad

not very often a performer can revitalize an industry twice and with such impact
