I'm aware of that Im also aware Darwin spent a considerable amount of time as a gas, who mostly looked like this...

and is not connected to any sort of black culture or character. I'd consider Darwin as black as MJ's kids. Still doesnt really change the point

GrindrStone(D)
I mean to be fair she was a teen in gen x while an adult in x-factor so it would be a bit disturbing if her gen x costume showed skin like Momo's. Monet suddenly starting to zip down her costume did come out of nowhere and thanlfully, unlike Catwoman, it didn't stick pass X-factor.
Sadly that costume kept popping back up. She was back to wearing that in Weapon X, and I was disappointed (again with that series lol)
Again, for anyone coming late. It's not a purity deal. And showing cleavage is not bad. I just never felt that costume on Monet. Even in GenX she occasionally showed some chest like her dress here.
She's working that look and it's great on her. But I never saw this type of stuff being a 24/7 deal like X-Factor, to the point a male teammate tells her to zip her uniform because even they're tired of seeing her boobs everyday.
Again it's different wearing a dress with a neckline that shows some chest and having a costume with a very low neckline that almost reaches her belly button lol. I just thinking that given her aversion to touch she wouldn't go for a costume that shows cleavage 24/7.
Yeah. But she was a high schooler under 18 in Generation X.
Come X-Factor, she’s an adult now.
I will say that between Gen X and X-Factor, Monet appeared in Uncanny X-Men.
The conversation between her and Stacy-X about sexuality was interesting. You could tell they started treating her college age by then.
Age doesn't have to mean style change. When I was a teen, girls showed cleavage, myself included. Just like how most teens have sex. Honestly there's not too much sacred to adults that teens don't start doing. lol So Monet could've dressed however she pleased. Not like she had parents telling her to zip up. And Emma sure as Hell wouldn't care. lol So I don't see her style from GenX being too different than what she'd be into as an adult of only 19 lol
You see younger dressed way more risque in anime shows that they release over here.
Example
Most revealing costume in bleach, worn by a 10-year-old.
Pokemon had Misty in a rather adult looking outfit when she was a magician's assistant. Not to mention her being hit on by doctors & gym leaders. And Misty isn't 16 yet. lol
With animation, you can get away with more.

Yeah and her costume in X-corps and in New X-men didn't have her showing any cleavage.
Interesting is one word for it I supposed, Stacy X seems to have been created entirely for the purpose of being the X-mens verbal punching bag. Monet did have legit grounds to be weary of Stacy using her pheromones to get clients and given M's history it's understandable that she be distrustful of someone who's shamelessly manipulates people will and gets to do whatever they want. But that's not what we got, instead we got a whole mess of slutshaming.

I really would have liked to see more of Monet aa a member of Hellfire Club inner circle with Magneto.
She was ironically the new White Queen.
Yeah and anime has a massive child porn and hypersexualisation of minor girls problem to the point where it's become a societal problem for women and girls in Japan. Anime notorious with given underaged female characters extremely lewd costume to the point where some of the costume choices border on, if not, are outright lolicon. At the end of the day, all these characters are fictional characters who don't have any real agency because they don't exist. A female character (especially an underaged one) didn't chose a revealing costume "because she owns her sexuality" but because an adult made the conscious choice to draw her in that.
Anyways it's a good thing that they didn't have not even legal Monet with a boobs out costume in gen x.
