During today's X-Men Monday about Rogue and Gambit, Mystique came up:

Seeing that in the rogue and gambit interview, made me randomly think about mystique pestering rogue and gambit about grand babies...

Firstly, Mystique being teleported in the garden for that very reason was quite literally spelled out in the original issue. Secondly, still wouldn't explain in the slightest why Orchis not properly investigating the break-in/assault, not finding the seed and not weaponizing it is even a theoretical possibility.

Hopefully this particular plot point isn't as dumb as it currently appears. That being said, I'd totally be down for a "Chuck and Mags have been suuuper high since last July, lawl" type of explanation.

Doesn't really matter. The rather amusing issue is with Chucks/Mags seemingly not contemplating that scenario as a borderline inevitability in the mid/long term. The rest of the team rushed for the Control Collars. Mystique didn't. To even suggest Orchis wouldn't investigate her whereabouts the hardest is ludicrous.

Of course there are. All of which basically being a glorified take on the TimeJump!ShutUpIt'sTotallyAThing!TECH! thingy I mentioned. Magical flowers. Yay.

Imagine Orchis has the seed, planted it, grew their own flowers, and made their own cure for cancer / magic pill, so nobody needs to trade with Krakoa anymore.
