Default Victor Von Doom (Doctor Doom / Iron Man) Appreciation

With the old forum gone, I think it's only fair that the good Doctor receive a new thread (the previous one was close to hitting 300 pages).

So, what are your thoughts on Victors future in the Marvel Universe?

What will his original sin be?
Is he destined to join the New Avengers, or work against them?
Will Valeria Richards bring out his better side, or will he bring out her worst?

Doctor Doom & the Masters of Evil 1 – 4 (Limited Series) January 2009 **** A fun mini series aimed at all ages. Great individual moments downgraded by inconsistent art.

Fall of Hulks: Alpha one shot, Feb-10 “Meeting of the Minds” The Intelligentsia gather knowledge from the world, Doom keeps it. Fall of Hulks was difficult to follow unless you got all of the Hulk titles, but this one-shot was a particularly nice showing for Doom. **

Spider-Man & the Secret Wars 1 – 4 (Limited Series) January 2010 Another all-ages title, recaps Secret Wars from Spider-Mans POV, with Dr Doom; again providing a new take on a classic story. ****

    Fantastic Four (vol 3) 67 – 71/500 May, 2003. “Under Her Skin” and “Unthinkable” parts 1 – 4.
Fantastic Four 566 to 569, July 2009 “Doom’s Master” and “Million Year Old Doom”

Glad to see this thread getting in right from the beginning! I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to be going on with Doom in both Fantastic Four and Ultimate FF. After being fairly disappointed with his appearances in recent comics, both of these are kicking off in a way that has me optimistic. (I have no idea what's going on with Original Sin, though - I haven't been keeping up with that at all.)

Awesome pic! Where is it from?

The Original Sin Doom tie in will be written by Robinson, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be cool. Plus, IIRC, he did say it was going to have Mephisto!!!

I second that query, and yes it will involve Mephisto and the corpse of that alt-Galactus from Hickmans run.

The Hickman/Epting FF run - issue 9, I think. I just uploaded a bunch of favourite Doom pics to post on another site the other week, and that one seemed appropriate for our new beginning here.

Ah, yes! I knew it was something else, other than Mephisto.

Coolness! Thank you for the info.

I did enjoy Hickman's take on Doom. Wish he'd do a mini-series, at the very least, on him.

I strongly suspect that Hickman has big things planned for Doom in New Avengers.

Obviously it will be in Dooms interest to put an end to the incursions, but I'm pretty sure that his solutions would be far more drastic, so whether he joins the New Avengers, or his solution to the problem puts him on a collision course with the team, remains to be seen.

Looking forward to seeing him interact with Black Swan.

I certainly hope so. That book needs some DOOOOOM!

But I'm more looking forward to seeing Doom and Namor team up / bicker. It will break my heart if Doom gets the same treatment the others have gotten with Black Swan.

I feel this thread needs more pictures. And merchandise.

I REALLY need to get this shirt before my next convention.

I think that if Doom joined the New Avengers he'd get on pretty well with the Black Swan, and he'd find an ally in Namor.

I'm sure Namor and Doom will be allies ... until they are not. LOL!

No, I meant, I hope Doom isn't jobbed to Black Swan, like the rest of the Illuminati have been. Though ... if Iron Maiden and I are correct about the Science Priests and the Mage whatevers, Black Swan may actually be respectful of Doom.

Iron Maiden, I can't find that list of reading recommendations (was it Doomscribe?) posted. Halp!!

Also, if folks will list any collected editions of Doom awesome, that would be helpful. Thanks!
