Default In future movies, I want to see Tom Selleck as Commissioner Gordon

If ever an actor was BORN to play a role...

Look, I dig JK Simmons and everything - but no one can deny Selleck would be PERFECT.

    So.... Magnum P.I.
    In Gotham.

    I like you.
    (I liked Gary Oldman)

As someone who watches more Blue Bloods than they ever intended to, I agree with this typecasting. Dye his hair red, give him a pipe, and put him out there.

It'd be weird to have a Commissioner Gordon who's more dashing and dapper than Batman. I think Gary and JK are both perfect. Gary Oldman can be ANYONE (anyone who didn't see him as Winston Churchill--go buy the DVD right now!!!) and JK is the best old curmudgeon ever.

I really second the appreciation and recommendation about Gary Oldman's work .

JK Simmons is another beast too. Great performances, always.

I thought Nick Nolte would have been a good one for the 89 Batman movie. Anyone ever see Q&A? I mean, he's definitely not playing Jim Gordon in that role but he looks like him.

Tom Selleck seems a little too big and bulky to be Jim.

Now, if they did a live-action Batman Beyond movie, Selleck might have the right build for the older, retired Bruce Wayne . . .

Nah, that would have to be Keaton.

Not a bad choice, although I've long seen Ian McShane in the part. But I want Ian McShane to be in everything.
