I think it matters less if it's a choice than an obsessive need (see: Sheldon Cooper for the latter). I used to go to Chi-Chi's every Friday afternoon and eat and read comics, but that was only because it was payday when I had money to pick up my pulls and eat out, not because of ritual or OCD.

"Mexican food for American taste." So, basically a sit down restaurant about a step and a half above Taco Bell.

The name is also Mexican slang for boobs. No idea if that was intentional or not, and I worked there for a year.

Basically. Chi-Chi's is what they call "Casual Dining" so somewhere in quality and atmosphere between fast food and an actual restaurant. Like, Chili's, Applebee's, Bennigans, T.G.I.Fridays, etc. but with a specifically mexican theme. So yeah, pretty much a slightly upmarket Taco Bell. No Doritos taco shells, though.

Also, apparently there are no more Chi-Chis left in the US. They're all in Asia and the Middle East now.

I looked on the internet and the closest one to where I am is Indonesia... I have not been to Indonesia.

There is one in Kuwait, but I don't remember seeing it when I was there.
