Tyranids are a race from the tabletop RPG Warhammer 40K.

They are basically like... hyper evolving xenomorphs with potent hive mind based psychic abilities, ridiculous ability to reproduce and adapt and whose MO is to infest a world and then absorb every scrap of biological material on it until it is left behind as a husk.

Essentially, depending on the number of Nids in play, MHA verse is in for something between a bad time to a world-ending catastrophe.

Hence why we're all hoping that Masonicon is going to specify how many Tyranids there are at some point.

The only chance MHA has is small numbers, weaker Nids and lack of brain nids.

Otherwise they get murdered and badly.

typically, the bids like to send smaller forces to probe a planet to see how well they can defend against them. then they retreat back to the main hive fleet, relay what they've learned and then come back in force to overwhelm the planet through sheer numbers.

then you have gene-stealers who were individual nids who infiltrate a world and create "cults" to act as a vanguard for a invasion. and considering how many villains groups there are in MHA, i'd say it wouldn't be hard for a GS to start up a cult.
