Well, it is dying out (thankfully). I can recall (about five years ago) when all the major sites played April Fool's pranks now not so much. The date also isn't even listed as an occasion on many calendars anymore, but I digress.

Don't count on its demise, pal. Pranks, especially the unfunny ones, will always exist; only they don't have much fun in media, only in person. Besides, spanish/latino people have their own version on December 28th, called "Santos Inocentes".
