Margaretta? Interesting... (please Marvel, release a full edition of Doom 2099 in 2019! It's the right time!)

This was one of my favorite Doom moments from DOOM 2099, although I was disappointed in the art overall (Pat Broderick had left by then), Warren Ellis' writing was worth it (he really got Doom).

That was a great story arc. It was fun seeing the (short) reign of President Doom but seeing Doom survive and seek revenge afterwards was just as compelling. Isolating Doom with his back up against the wall really illustrates his strength as a character. Doom is dangerous because of his resources, as the leader of a nation with advanced technology. Take that away and you find out Doom is just as powerful even without those advantages, desperation just reveals how inventive and ruthless Doom really is at his best.
That is one of my favorite moments from Doom 2099 as well. I think if Doom were to have any "powers", it would be his instinct for survival that he needed in order to even survive to adulthood.
I hope you and all the posters here had a Merry Christmas too! Looking forward to next years's "Herald of Doom" arc.
Here's the Alex Ross image of Doom that was part of the big fold out cover.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?
Thanks, Reviresco! I wonder if there is another image inside of the book. I've been to the local BAM and Barnes and Nobles and haven't seen this yet. I know Marvelocity came out about 2 month's ago.
I'm pretty sure there are interior images also. What's cool about the above is image is that it is the size of the cover. There are like 10 or 12 cover sized portraits that fold out into a HUGE gatefold 'cover' worthy of being a long, long, poster. It includes all four FF and Doom, as well as the movie characters. Scroll down this Amazon page to see what I'm talking about.

The newest issue of F4 # 650 which is the wedding between Ben and Alicia (amazing issue btw) has some great Doom dialogue and featured a great double page spread of Galactus in the heart of Latveria as Doom observes this from atop the castle...pick this issue up!!!!
One thing you notice right off about Doom in FF #650 is that he has green eyes again. He must be using contacts
Thanks for the link. I think I may end up going online to buy it if I don't find it at Barnes & Noble. One of my nieces is really into the superhero world and I might try and buy two in advance of her birthday.

It’s Kristoff! Jk. But that would be awesome.

The Mitch Trubisky jersey Santa Doom got me was a size too large.
Knowing Doom, I doubt this was an error; rather, it was just him being a dick.
Returned it and ordered one in the right size that'll be at home waiting for me.
Not too much of a hassle, and he also got me some other stuff I was looking forwards to (My school doesn't allow boys to wear shorts in winter, so everybody wears pants, because you have to wear clothing matching your gender identity, but the dress code says NOTHING OF KILTS).
So, thank you, Santa Doom.
Cyclops was SO DAMN RIGHT, BABY
Pull list: X-23, Mr. & Mrs. X, Extermination, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, Uncanny X-Men
Have been informed that the Black Swans are "only seeking female members, but thank you very much for your time"
I hope Slott remembers to bring him back into the fold not that "Dad" is back. We've not seen Kristoff since the Molecule Man took him on that journey to find a way to stop the source of the incursions.
I did mention a while back that there was another Doom Christmas story this year, this time in the one shot called "Season's Beatings" with Deadpool. It is a short feature that once again involves a pairing of Doom with Squirrel Girl. I suppose it will be considered canon and it does have a a goofy charm to it, especially the glimpse of the hidden life of Doombots.
One can't really place this story at a particular time in the past or present but then you could say that about just about any Squirrel Girl. When any other Marvel hero or villain is in the story, they're just there to prop up her character. It's why you wouldn't see a story with her and Victor in his Infamous Iron Man phase. He simply would not be that frazzled about her mere presence. Doom is in a cranky mood and Squirrel Girl comes along to give him little boost in the spirit of the Christmas Season. And he does get a nice little present from her. It's a cute story but not as memorable as Santa Doom.
