It's always weird to go back to JL(U) animated series where Mera is just a Queen and not the woman she has evolved into in the comics.

I'm really hoping that Mera doesn't get sidelined in the sequel due to the drama surrounding Amber Heard. All the rumors saying that she is fighting for more screen time makes me fear that while not outright firing her that they are trying to reduce her role. Maybe having her be pregnant and taking her out of the film that way.

James Wan really likes Amber. All of the people who worked on Aquaman like her. Despite the controversy surronding the actress, Mera is a very important character in the Aquaman mythos. So sidelining the character will be a bad move. The characters is a badass and deserves to shine. The international audience doesn't care what is going on with the actress. Also there are rumors that Garth will be appearing in the movie. I don't know of this is true, but I hope so.
