Whatever. I'm sure Nolan was given a lot of freedom to do what he wanted with Tenet, and most of the reaction seems to suggest it wasn't very good. Maybe his next project will turn out better.
People complain that the comic book movies are popcorn fluff. Then they say Nolan movies are too complex.
It's like people look for things to complain about.

It's more like social media has dumbed down discourse, so movie criticism is reduced to blanket value judgements--this was trash, that was the best, this is stupid, that's too complicated. Movie criticism doesn't need to be about passing judgement or assigning stars--it can be a discussion of cinema and semiotics. But the medium we're communicating in dictates the kind of message we send which is usually curt and bombastic.
