Apparently, Marvel said no on that.

It was obvious Percy didnt know the lore behind the omega term or it was one of the worst and needlessly confusing analogies I’ve seen, but I’m glad it’s been corrected.

It was an odd mistake. Percy has used the omega term with Quire and Jean in his Wolverine run (see the issue where the cuckoos taunt Quire about the Pale Girl). He also referenced Jean as an omega before in an interview. But alas the error has been corrected.

I agree with regards to Emma it doesn't matter so much because she is a powerful telepath in her own right though I do think two omega telepaths are enough and I'm glad that Jean and Quire are those two.

Gee, where have I heard that before?

It’s not an uncommon thing. If a mutant is not well-trained enough and their powers keep growing, it can pose a danger to not just everyone around them, but their bodies themselves. Many Omega Level Mutants have suffered this kind of ill-effect before. Nate is not unique in this aspect. Just untrained.

You can lie to a telepath so Marvel botched up the sentence again even with the correction. You can't lie to one of a certain calibre

Reminds me of Astra explaining how she created Joseph, and him lacking the usual subconscious power restraints extremely powerful beings usual have for self preservation

Joseph would eventually go on to push himself to the point of discorporating and losing himself entirely to the Earth's EM field

In fact that's how the Legacy Virus was designed as well...increasing mutant's power to the point that it overloads and burns out their body

It’s the exact reason Xavier put so much emphasis on control when it comes to his students.

    @Thread

I know he's not a mutant, but for all the telepath experts in here, where would you guys place Sentry? I know he had that one global "forget me" telepathic feat but how does he stack up without all the gazillion exploding suns hype?

He’s like Nate Grey. No experience. No control. Pretty strong.

You’d think this would put him high, but it doesn’t for me.

To me, it puts him at mid if I want to be nice and “barely a telepath” if I’m being critical.

Talking of non mutants Josef Huber...apparently he could hear the thought of every person(or mutant) in the world. Presumably he couldn't control his telepathy too well but his power level is definitely up there.

I will go with what you said on both accounts.

What happened to the Gamemaster, he used to be such a big deal in the 90’s

    A0FA2077-E040-403F-9171-B23E1F6E6500.jpg

ABILITIES/ACCESSORIES: The Gamesmaster is an omnipath
    - a telepath so powerful that he constantly hears the thoughts
of every being on the planet in his mind. He can manipulate
the thoughts and perceptions of others, and has suggested
that he is able to manipulate the entire population of Earth
simultaneously. Though he has yet to demonstrate this ability,
he has previously simultaneously manipulated the population of
an entire town. To a lesser extent, the Gamesmaster can also
control the actions of other sentient beings, and can mentally
prohibit super-powered beings from accessing their powers.
Ommadon: “By summoning all the dark powers I will infest the spirit of man So that he uses his science and logic to destroy himself. Greed and avarice shall prevail, and those who do not hear my words shall pay the price. I'll teach man to use his machines, I'll show him what distorted science can give birth to. I'll teach him to fly like a fairy, and I'll give him the ultimate answer to all his science can ask. And the world will be free for my magic again.”

He kind of fell off the way. Not certain exactly what happened, but they might have shifted focus mid-way into his story, due to writer changes and all that.

As far as feats go, he is decent. Not a top tier. But he’s pretty okay.
