I generally have a variety of places I get my news.

Plenty of centrist/ left-wing sources were critical of CNBC.

While anything written even a few hours after the debate is tainted by Priebus' statements, the initial responses on twitter and live blogs didn't suggest CNBC handled themselves well.

And if the CNBC hosts did an awesome job, there'd be pushback against Preiebus' view.

    There were certainly other factors.

CNBC has a reputation for snark that doesn't play well in this kind of debate format. The moderators weren't all ready for this kind of exposure. The main point of a CNBC debate was to have a discussion that focuses on economic issues, but the moderators often went outside that wheelhouse.

CNBC did screw up. (Then again, Fox didn't do much better and yet, no com... Right, Trump/Kelly...)

Doesn't mean I'll stop saying that despite being "anti-PC", Republicans can be insecure as all hell.

They started this narrative the moment Ted Cruz gave his whiny horse shit over "Ohhh the nasty liberal media hates us." That is when it started and all the RNC chairman did was play it up as usual. This is the 2nd time in 4 years he's became a sad whiny bitch over a network. One year he got mad because the network planned a documentary on Hillary Clinton. This year its this. In all welcome to your Republican party , a group of scared silly people who can't accept blame at all.

Telling people repeatedly to go look on a website is so silly and less a discussion on the economy than the Geico Insurance ads plugging to call their 1-900 number for good rates. Honestly , this is why they failed. If your supposed to have a discussion on economy , how can you when repeatedly the people there say , "Oh I cover that on my website , go there." Its pretty damn funny to see.

Fox started the debate nonsense by going off about how it would be a huge ratings draw, and pitting candidates against each other, going after Trump and trying to play kingmaker with Carly Fiorina. Now this is the path it led to. So I'm sure they will call it a liberal media bias for people to copy their model.

Bingo. The hypocrisy is positively staggering, but I'm sure Republicans don't see it that way. Perhaps the next debate should be on TLC. After all, the entire GOP presidential campaign has been a bonafide three-ring circus from jump street, so why not have the next debate at the home of freak shows like Honey Boo Boo, 19 Kids & Counting and the Kardashians. Hell, they could have Mama June, Jim Bob Duggar and Kimye as moderators. Wouldn't that be fun?

Huckabee would certainly agree to have Duggar as a moderator, right? And Caitlyn Jenner is a Republican, right? So she would be a friendly moderator, too.

And what makes the candidates look even more pathetic is , they had a woman spend 11+ hours in testimony over Bengazi and they can't even take tough questions in a debate ? Jeeze ....

Default International politic : On the Frontier

Since in the other thread they mainly talk about the U.S election fight
and Everything else goes under so I made a new thread.

Okay the first topic I can add is this:

In Portugal they had their election last month. In short the socialist won most of the seats together with the communist they have 55% of the seats.
The funny thing starts when their president started to give the command to create a new government to the conservatives which is on heard of.
His reasoning was it would shake the thrust of the financial investor which many called financial-fascism

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/e...rom-power.html

In the end it doesn't look so well for conservatives and their president.
    http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...ple-government

I noticed this all only an hour ago because somehow it didn't made it into the normal press where I life.

I thought the thing with the US destroyer in China waters was interesting...

I'm also a little surprised that more people in the politics thread aren't talking more about the refugee situation in Europe

I don't think it's really about having a more "fair" debate situation, it's about trying to gain points with the base by attacking the so-called liberal media.

The hypocrisy shows when Ted Cruz said, "This is not a cage match." It most certainly is when front runners of their own volition are on twitter taking pot shots at each other. CNBC isn't making Trump and Jeb say bad things about each other. CNBC isn't making Carson say dumb stuff every other month

This is why people don't trust the media? Cool. Now tell us why people don't trust politicians...

I think I posted about the refugee situation a week ago in the other thread but it went under the other posts.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...unted#comments AKP takes the majority in Turkish elections, which may continue Turkey's path away from a secular state and may see more curtailing of freedom speech.
