I remember during the Fatal Attraction story where he absorbed the combined energy of Cyclops, Havok, Storm, Polaris, Jubilee, and some others to take out Magneto... until Colossus sucker punched him.

A-force the story arc that had her suffering from m-pox and thor allison was guest staring. I dont tick off exact issues but its in that arc and i think she said shes died 3 times so far.

It's no dumber than Dazzler being able to absorb his voice to begin with, since the destructive element isn't sound it's electrons.

The part that hits him and only the part that hits him. Wouldn't save Emma or the rest of the zipcode from Black Bolt's scream. Dazzler's ability to turn noise into light reaches further then own skin. And yeah still not an answer to the technical reality of Black Bolt's powers. Only reason these fights are happening is because of the wind. The Cloud by itself wouldn't harm anyone. Storm is being disserviced far more. Black Bolt will get too strike back. Storm almost certainly won't.

Fun fact: Black Bolt actually DOES have a vulnerable point on his body. But it's NOT his throat. It's the tuning fork in his forehead. He literally can't live without it. Thor smacked him there with Mjolnir once and he pretty much collapsed instantaneously.

It was "canon" decades ago, when Bolt's scream was assumed to be sound-based.

Now? Recent continuity has established that his scream is NOT sound-based. Hence? Unless Dazzler's powers have changed, she shouldn't be capable of absorbing his voice anymore.

If you can take punches from Thanos, Thor, Hulk, and Vulcan, you (and subsequently your throat) are made of much tougher stuff than most. Thus? It takes a LOT of force to crush the throat of a guy who can survive in the vacuum of space and take hits from beings vastly stronger than Emma Frost, who has never demonstrated anywhere near that kind of strength.

Again? If you wanted Black Bolt's takedown to make sense, you use Bishop, not Dazzler, and you have Emma punch him in the tuning fork.

If Bishop could absorb the energy of an amped up Living Monolith{and other more powerful people} and not almost die from it, then the Cyclops going full power and almost killing him is still some bs. Pre 2000 this wouldn't even be a question, but the X-offices have been on a Cyclops wank ever since.
