Knull reminds me a lot of Amatsu-Mikaboshi, too.

Except even worse as a concept.

Bro, realized that when I was reading the issue. A primordial, darkness from the beginning of the universe who wants to snuff out all life in the universe, where have I heard that before? Now, I think Cates has done a great job with the execution, but Knull seems similar to other beings.

Folks, Bob is not being killed off. xD

Traditional death is a minor inconvenience for him /at best/. xD

If I had to connect them, I woiuld have suggested that the Void is named itself for Bob having, thorugh his telepathy, 'sensed' Knull on a subconscious level. The Void is the Void, and its name is more of allusion to the emptyness of addiction, but if I *had* to connect them, that's how I'd do it. (And I'd suggest Bob's over the top kill of Carnage was from the same, an instinctive if not intellectual awareness of the same.)

The Void was, seemingly. When Knull ripped Bob open, the Void bowed to Knull and added to his power. It's why the Sentry's 'insides' were actually like void tentacles and such.

Edit: also, watch the change to Knull's eyes.

I mean Knull is apparently a complete ripoff of Mikaboshi (except Mikaboshi had greater feats IMO & did multiple universes) and this story is starting off as a carbon copy of Chaos War. It makes no sense that the Gods of Earth are not intervening in an attack by an alien god. Not as impressed by this as most everyone else is apparently.

And let's not forget Nyx, a primordial goddess of night and darkness introduced to the comics in Avengers: No Road Home last year or so. Still trying to think of a way to connect them all.

Honestly, Mikaboshi to me was far more boring than Knull. Like if people complain that Knull has no personality and is "generic darkness bad guy" then Mikaboshi/Chaos King is even worse. He doesn't even have a design as engaging as Knull.

I would argue the primordial darkness is a force of nature and should not have a personality like a normal character.

I dunno man, Mikaboshi was pretty cool in Oeming's Aries miniseries too.

Wasn't the dark winter from Thor's book kind of the same deal.

Eddie Brock's son, he has the power to control symbiotes similar to those of Knull.
In Venom Beyond, Dylan of that world took over the whole Earth.
In that world he is like a herald of Knull.
