I don't know about it... An established superhero couldn't upend the whole of the Multiverse, and I can't see who would fit into an unknown family yet wearing his or her name. I think it's possible that Naomi is related to a member of a supporting cast or minor character from the big JL however, someone who could easily be expanded upon to change the DCU forever.
I’ll be getting:
- Batgirl #30-31
- Detective Comics #995-997
- Hawkman #8
- Naomi #1
- Teen Titans #26, Annual #1
- Wonder Woman #61-63
- Young Justice #1
I might pick up The Green Lantern #3 & Batman & the Outsiders #2, depending on how I like the first issues of each.
RIRI WILLIAMS
MOON GIRL
Shuri
MIDNIGHT ANGELS
That's why. For all the HATE the first two constantly get from entitlement& Echo chamber fans-outside of comics folks like them. So it falls to DC to counter-since they don't care for the 4 other black females on tv (Bumblebee, Vixen & Black Lighting's daughters)-it falls to Bendis & David Walker working on it because he's already doing one at Lion Force called Superb.
This books sounds like a very good way to use Naomi as way to introduce other DC characters ESPECIALLY those of COLOR to the public.
And looking at the few black heroes in DC (assuming she is not biracial)
At least in the OLD DC
Michael Holt His wife was pregnant when she died
Tattoo Man did have a daughter and a son
John Stewart DID have a sister and brother
Steel had a large family
Malcolm Duncan did have a sister
Dr Midnight 2 (Infinity Inc one) had a brother
Mr Bones
Michael Lane (Azreal 2) had a niece
Nil Shilo (Mr Miracle 2)
Killer Croc?
So... Bendis and black girls are like Whedon and white girls? Like it's their standard go-to character?
