I think Maguire and Dunst would be great as Mayday's parents. But I doubt we'll get two teenage Spider girls in these films, and it's obvious they'd choose Spider-Gwen over Mayday.

RYV has its own dynamic that could work. Particularly with a focus on kid Annie (as the original mini, and the early issues of the ongoing did).

Yeah, if they include RYV, then Kid Annie is the direction they will go for, regardless of whether Maguire and Dunst play her parents or not. Spider-Gwen and RYV combined have unfortunately stripped away the uniqueness of Mayday's main hooks.

Well, almost, Mayday's brother was one of the essential plot devices of the original Spider-Verse story, so she could still be utilized if they stay true to that bit.

If anything though a definite positive of Miles become more visible is it means creators will be more comfortable with actually letting Peter be an adult.

I'll have to say that I'm slightly interested...but I will save my reservations until more info comes out... I'm one of the odd men out who don't find a bunch of Spider-Man themed heroes running around New York all that appealing...

However what this film DOES do for me is answer the question when it comes to animated movie rights! I'M STILL WAITING ON THAT HOBGOBLIN MYSTERY SONY!

Especially when the emphasis on a teenage Peter and other Spiders leads to something as silly as a teenage Peter with barely a few months experience himself mentoring a Miles Morales who's almost the same age as him.
