It looks like the war in Iraq is turning into the long prophesied Sunni-Shitte war, or has signs of doing so. And there are idiots on both sides of the US political devise that want the US to get involved in that snakepit. I wonder which side is not our enmy in the lng term Is it the Side that has Iran and the Iraqu govement or the side that is too radical for Al Quada?

My side is the one that calls for the immediate impeachment of anyone that decides to tho row away more American lives in a battle that the US will lose no matter who wins on the ground, Pictures of US bought weaponry being driven into Syria by the rebels and US trained troops running away show the futility of this fight from the US point of view.

That's why presidents get away with so much. They are not superhuman, they can be easily replaced, if presidents would knew they would be impeached for crimes they would think twice about a lot of shady stuff.

No, I think we beefed up our security and that these guys are amateurs with less resources than we have. They've tried several times since 9/11 and failed every time. That's what usually happens when we're paying attention.

That we can't be beat or destroyed or severely hurt? Why? Just because we're the United States? I doubt they'd be able to fly a plane into a building again but there are number of other ways to attack us. All it takes is one guy with a wild, out of the box way of thinking.

This country's got it's problems, but terrorism is so far down the list it isn't even funny. A minor threat we need to keep an eye on, that's all.

I missed nothing. It wasn't the best of times but we weren't as close to the abyss as we are now.

I was a adult and in the mil try ythrough that I guess you missed the the tens of thousands American corpses come over the pacific in aluminum coffins, Rivers through major Cities catching fire, race riots, Anti-war riots with fatalities on both. Unemployment rates that make the worst of the last recession look mild and double digit inflation rates being the norm foy years on end. Not to mention that civil rights and women rights still basically sucked. Maybe it was OK if you were white and in the middle class, but for everyone else it was far worse than now. Hell even the political divides in the US were nastier than now.

The US has been an empire since the 1900's when we got Phillipines, Guam and Peuto Rico from Spain. We grew to be a large empire in the last century, had our zenith in the 1940's though the 1960's and then began a slow decline.

that is your problem, the US his not and should neve4r be a empire. Being a Empire is anti-antithetical to the whole point of the US.
