I don't like these captain. They should have been Cyclops, Besty, Cannonball and Wolverine.
A picture would last longer darling...
I continue to maintain my theory of what each captain does:
Cyclops: Captain Commander, versatile for almost every situation
Magik: Magic or demonic dangers that affect Krakoa
Bishop: Timeline problems and police investigations
Gorgon: Problems with organizations like HYDRA or The Hand.
But only in truly serious situations. In peacetime Cyclops deals with day to day.
I was just thinking about this too. Bishop , Gorgon, and Magik *DO NOT* act like "Captains" whatsoever. And Gorgon has yet to even make a single appearance in any book. ???????????????????????????? So weird
Cyke is Captain Commander and clearly he is being portrayed like that but the others... not really. You *could* argue Magik is sort of the NM squad "boss lady" but it's a slight stretch she hasn't truly acted like that.
Along these lines, what about Exodus and Mystique? We've gotten very little from them and they are both on the Council supposedly.
Forget the old ways - Krakoa is god.
OBEY
"A happy ending? So unlikely. We're not having a moment here.
Wrong city, wrong people, all huddling in fear.
No one escapes the slaughterhouse, and that's just where you're at.
(You could've asked Rebecca but then Adam stomped her flat.)
You think you're special cuz you're scrappy? You're deluded, time to go.
Lucy's living on the moon but you're another dead psycho."
That is not explained on the comic. I mean Krakoa is without a translator since Doug is with them
I think the other captains are back ups, in case captain commander ever falls, get missing or stranded, and they have problems or take time to ressurrect
This is where the weakness of Hickman and the other writers are exposed. They have all these different books and perspectives but they are focusing on the same few mutants. I just read where one poster suggests that the same mutants that are team leaders also be The Captains...??? What's the inability to conceive of other mutants having an opportunity to show and be important part of the plan?
Yeah, this.
If not for the data pages, I wouldn't have thought the characters even realise they're supposed to be this.
If Scott has such faith in Xavier's new ideals, why wasn't he showing more concern about his overall approach? Did his blind trust truly extend so far?
Why didn't Bishop radio back with even a head's up about "hey, stuff's rough on this end, be careful" ?
Gorgon is goddamn MIA all things considered and don't get me started on Illyana.
No one even seems to acknowledge this! I'm half expecting Scott to turn around next issue and be like "Wait, what?? The hell dya mean I'm a 'great captain?!' The hell does that mean???"
it Hasn’t even been 3 issues for any of the comics. In-timeline it appears Xavier’s death was only hours to days ago because word is just reaching kitty and the marauders, the quiet council is just convening to discuss it/etc. I think y’all are a bit too quick to ask what the captains are doing or saying they aren’t doing enough. Being a captain doesn’t mean they need to or should lead respective teams in the books they’re in (especially since they seem domestic titles and all but Scott are MIA or confirmed outside of Krakoa—which coincides with Scott being the only captain shown being given orders and doing stuff the council is requesting).
Gotta chill yo. Scott is famously duty driven and probably is happy to help at home as much as he can while the others went off doing their own things until the council specifically requests their captaincy duties take priority over whatever space or marauder hijinks they want to get into. It isn’t like anyone outside of Krakoa is going to know or care what they are a krakoan captain.
But considering how closely Scott works with Xavier now, you'd think he'd at least voice something of a complaint. "Is this wise?" At least, especially if his role is so important. Scott is not the type to let something like this slip his mind; if anything this should have been one of 10000 contingencies he might have planned for, unless arrogance has truly gotten the better of him. He's the type of character who would have prioritised this, who would have been as close to ground zero as possible.
Given that jean and Scott are at least somewhat close and we know jean and hank are on the task of xavier’s ressurection, I think he would be perfectly aware of the plan and how Xavier is going to be brought back and would let the specialists do their thing. There isn’t much for Scott to do when it comes to resurrecting people.
