https://www.darkhorizons.com/spike-l...s-rotc-series/Amazon Studios is developing a coming-of-age drama series set within the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. (ROTC) with Spike Lee set to direct and executive produce.
The story explores the world of a rigorous ROTC military program at a major university, where students from all different walks of life push themselves to limits they never thought possible.
Jalysa Conway (“9-1-1: Lone Star”) and Rebecca Murga (“Swagger”) wrote the script and executive produce.
Last year Lee became the first Black director to receive the DGA’s highest honor with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

It's because they believe that toxic ships are better and are more interesting than "safe, boring" relationships. It mostly comes from people who are terminally online, don't date, and don't have a good scope of what real relationships are actually like. "Enemies to lovers" is a popular fan fiction trope, it's all over the place. One would think they'd be put off by the massive age difference, but they didn't seem to mind edward and bella. I saw someone ship T'Challa with Namor, after he drowned Wakanda, which was a horrible idea.
People love these toxic ships so much they pathologize normal relationship dynamics.
If a woman fixes her man a plate on thanksgiving dinner, she's an abused submissive tradwife.
If a couple can't agree on paint swatches for the kids bedroom, it's time to get a divorce.
If a man texts a woman after a date or buys her flowers, he's love bombing her.
A 25 y.o. Man dating a 21 y.o. Woman is grooming.
None of this is healthy.
MCU Namor is considerably less of a bastard than Kylo Ren, in all fairness.
Saw Disney's Strange World yesterday (went to a 10 AM showing and had the theater to myself).
I enjoyed it and did not expect that plot twist that should warrant a prequel to explain it.
As for the LGBTQA+ content that has the movie banned in 20 countries.
A redubbing of dialogue could have taken care of that.
Even pulling a Sailor Moon, Care Bears, Gatchaman or Power Rangers could have been done.
The classic yes you see that is a GUY but lets pretend he's a girl trick.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/strange-w...000056420.htmlAnother Disney movie, “Strange World,” is bombing, grossing a disappointing $4.2 million on Wednesday as it eyes a five-day haul of under $24 million. That’s a terrible result for the $180 million-budgeted animated adventure.
It's already being removed from theaters. Dec 1 is the last showing here in the 4th largest area in the USA. After that next showing is December 10.Yet Strange World has landed neither with a bang nor a whimper. Instead, the biggest studio in the world has released a new feature film with practically zero fanfare. There are no Strange World toys at McDonald’s right now. YouTube isn’t bombarding us with trailers. Reviews dropped two days before the film’s release, generating no conversation. And even Fox News has made nary a peep about Strange World’s discourse-ready casting.
Guess what is two items will be looked at the black male LGBTQ+ lead.
Then when we don't get LGBTQ+ or black male lead content-stock holders will point to this movie.
I get being mad but where are the movie goers at? Folks can not keep throwing fits when they don't show up.
Sounds to me like Disney set this one up to fail by doing little to promote it. So when it does fail, they say, "See? Films like this can't succeed."
Watching television is not an activity.
As mentioned elsewhere, the basic appeal for women is supposed to be the conflict the female character would feel at being both mentally opposed to the villain but also emotionally and physically attracted to him, often accompanied by either the fantasy of “fixing him” or alternatively “being overwhelmed by his raw sexual magnetism.” And then there’s some dudes who love the idea of a woman responding to their “forceful assertiveness” or just plain being attractive while still being allowed to be a jackass.
Of course, there *are* some well done and much more intellectually, emotionally, and ethically mature versions of such attractions or romances… but trashier writers tend to just confuse their stuff for that stuff.
Then there’s the type of story that uses that trope to deconstruct it, which is where Namor has an advantage over Kylo Ren:
As pointed out, MCU Namor has far more actual redemptive traits, more actual charisma, a clear motivation and POV that *is* explained to Sheri, and perhaps most importantly… Ryan Coogler doesn’t actually present him as a romantic interest, and especially allows Shuri to actually have a human reaction to his assault on Wakanda and the death of her mother and hate his fucking guts.
Toxic ‘Ships are ultimately harmless, ignorable works of very amateur fan girls and fanboys until or unless they end up being put into canon.
What makes Reylo far worse is that Kylo has zero redeeming traits, no charisma, never explains his motivation to Rey, and most of all, Rian Johnson presented him as a romantic interest for Rey *after* he’d already violated her under torture, murdered one friend, and maimed Finn… at which point she is submitted to further violation under torture yet again, and yet we’re not supposed to blame Kylo for that.
…And it really didn’t help that this was accompanied by trying to paint Rey’s relationship with Finn, which had been well-developed in TFA, as somehow “wrong”… especially not when most objective e observers could see that *if* Rey was being set up for a romance it was with Finn, making it seem pretty clear LFL would rather feature an abusive, sexist romance with a Neo Nazi School Shooter than have a white girl romantically interested in her black male best friend.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?
I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP
I mean, it is obviously hard to beat Kylos raw numbers of killing (i mean, planets is hard to beat lol)
But, spoilers obviously... Namor kinda crossed a line lolol. Just a little.
and yes, im talking purely fans here, not actually o the screen.

Irene Cara, known for singing the title tracks to "Fame" and "Flashdance," has died, her publicist announced on Saturday.
Heartbreaking.
The younger ones won’t know but Irene Cara was something of an icon to us. There weren’t actually that many WoC doing their thing on that scale back then and she was one of the few that broke out huge into the mainstream. Her career was really hamstrung by her legal troubles with her record label.
It didn’t take away from her legacy though.
With MJ, Prince, Whitney Houston and now Irene Cara gone, it feels like a generation is passing away.
