Looking for specific male sexualization in comics (Read everything, please)

It's funny. Posting homo-erotic pictures seems progressive and empowering.
But posting cheesecake girls feels more sexist and shameful.

The thing to realize is that both the objectification of women as sexual possessions, and the erasure of gay male sexuality have been tools of the straight male subset of the population to cement their power and strengthen their own egos.

So it's not that "funny" - it's quite logical.

While the erasure of hetero female attractiveness and the promotion of gay male sexuality are, of course, not all "tools" of certain subsets looking to cement their power and strengthen their own egos.

It's not trolling simply to point out a flaw in your logic. You put forth a dichotomy between (a) the people who are doing things to "cement" their power and (b) the people who want greater representation, but you're neglecting to admit that the latter parties are just as much involved in ego-strengthening and power politics.

I'd add that I think certain of the latter parties have more power than you say they do. Some people use the power judiciously, and some don't, but nobody is intrinsically ennobled just because their side is the more marginalized.

I agree People wanting what they want to see in comics or any entertainment medium is just what it is. The customer making demands of the creator. No less or more righteous on either side.

Men are more visual then women. The way women sexualize men is different then the way men sexualize women. That’s why the largest population of people who buy playgirl aren’t woman but rather gay men. Naked pictures of men aren’t the direct parrellel of naked women. Trashy romance novels are.

... its a generalization. Which is always good for trying to prove some small aspect about an entire demographic. In comics, yeah, more men read them so more gals are going to be sexualized in them. Have you watched any TV? Supernatural is probably a 99% female viewership and they cut no corners in making as much beekcake as possible appear on the screen. So I am not going to take this post as "explained".

The irony is that as more people have been including LGBT representation in comics, the creators who are doing it are being careful not to be exploitative. The type of specific images that the OP is looking exist but not coming out of mainstream companies that are trying to be non-offensive.

Well, the point I was making there was that the OP was looking for effeminate and cross dressing men. And men who pose sexually in the same manner that women do. A lot of people would think of that as a stereotype and try to avoid it. I'm not saying you can't do it convincingly in a comic, but how likely is it in time where people are more sensitive about not just having representation but how that representation is portrayed.


Finding sexy men in comics isn't that hard, but the OP has a specific criteria that's outside what Marvel/DC superheroes usually deal with.

A lot of people would think of that as a stereotype and try to avoid it. Does the OP really want examples of effeminate men (which I agree almost everyone is not looking for) or is he looking for examples of men in sexual poses (i.e. a male character in a Speedo)?

Well, in a thread that was closed, he asked for effeminate men. In this one he's asked for men bending over or arching their backs the way women do.

Okay. I reread this thread (I forgot it was an old one only resurrected recently). What I'm trying to figure out here is if the OP is 1) trying to make a point regarding the double standard regarding the way attractive women and men are portrayed in comics (which is undeniable due to the large number of heterosexual male readers), 2) looking for pictures for his own sexual gratification, or 3) both 1 and 2?

Thing is, there is a market for what he wants, not where he insists on looking. If you limit your self to just Marvel/DC superheroes, the range of sexuality presented is only going to cover so much.
