Also enjoyed the Infinite Crisis tie-in issues towards the end (#82-87) where we had brief "returns" of Golden Age Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Indeed, that was good stuff. I think I enjoyed JSA all the way through. The relaunched Justice Society of America really fell off at the end (IMO), but that '99 series was gold.
I loved it. I just wish we would have had more Hippolyta in it. Or they could have brought Lyta back into the fold.
Also, I really didn’t like Stargirl or JJ Thunder in the group. I wish they would have formed their own Infinity Inc., instead of being on the home team.

From what I remember, and someone can correct me, DC had already decided to kill Hippolyte off, but Phil fought to have her die in an actual issue of Wonder Woman, and not just a throw away scene in another book.
That is why we got such a good and heartbreaking issue.

I love this series. Outstanding work from Johns.
I’ve got the first Omni and the second.
Still need to get the third and final omnibus.
Johns had a really great run on this book, combining super-heroic threats, characterization and possibly the best team dynamics and interpersonal relationships in any team book ever. Sadowski's art was also stellar.
