I quite enjoyed King in Black. It's just a fun storyline for Venom fans I'd say. His character gets to go higher than he's done before.
At least he was in spirit in issue five when Eddie ripped off his move of dragging his arch-nemesis to the Sun to kill him.
And even if this event hit the "Stop! He's already dead!" Simpsons scene about Sentry's humiliation by event middle, at least he still took out one one of Knull's Celestials so Iron Man could hack take over one and Captain Omniverse Venom could take out the other to help all other heroes.
If that's not worth a ticket to Valhalla I don't know what is.

I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.
(Marvel/DC fan for 44+ years)
I'm sure Sentry will get love from Cates in the near future but ... yeah.
As a Sentry fan, KiB and Thunderbolts combined and his dialogue in Return of the Valkyries was all pretty disappointing.
I'd like to hope that there will be a pay-off for Sentry. I mean let's face it, since his comeback in Dr. Strange we've had:
-Regular Sentry, with no explanation as to how he expunged the Death Seed
-Merged Sentry, now at peace with himself and flying off into space.
-But wait! He's back on Earth in Agents of Wakanda, apropos of nothing, and very much NOT at peace!
-And wait further! He's back in Annihilation Scourge trying to rid himself of the Void! Again! And has become an antagonist! Again!
-And here he comes in KiB, somehow back in his golden form. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It's probably an editorial slip! Along with dying in a manner that completely ignores his previous showings!
-Oh look, Bob in Return of the Valkyries basically lamenting how badly he sucks!
-Tune in to Thunderbolts, folks, for Weekend At Sentry's!
There really is going to have to be a hell of a pay-off at this point!
Not read this
Not sad about that
Cates had a pretty good handle on Sentry (and made him fun!) in his Doctor Strange bit. He hasn't really had a chance to do much with him aside from that and King in Black, and I don't mind Knull, the God of the Void, giving Sentry a gruesome come-uppance for all the rip-and-tear he's done under Bendis' pen. That's fine, a natural part of character growth even, but we'll just have to wait and see. I don't think it's any coincidence that Bob is being taken to Valhalla when the next Thor story after 'Prey' is versus Hel. :P

Just popping in to ask, but does the King in Black: Planet of Symbiotes #3 Toxin story actual feature Pat Mulligan?
