A Touch of Hellfire: The Hellfire Club Thread

The Hellfire Club should expand into a general Marvel Universe concept so it can escape from the trappings of boring X-Tropedom and become a device to drive interactions between the MU's elite such as rich baddies like Fisk, rich heroes, and X-folks instead of cyborgs and vampires and strippers, but mostly strippers.

Agreed. They’d be a great villain for Iron Man, and give Roxxon a run for their money.

Emma Frost: former White Queen, currently Black King. Emma grew up in an affluent New England family, who forego her family’s fortune to go out on her own. The third of four children, would use her gifts to amass her great wealth, and joined the Hellfire Club to further her own growth. She bought the Massachusetts Academy, and soon started gathering mutant children from affluent families from around the world, and trained them as an answer to Xavier’s New Mutants. She was thought dead after an attack by Sentinels and Trevor Fitzroy, but was just in a deep coma. Upon waking from the coma, she would go on to opening her academy to a new group of students, Generation X. Working towards redeeming her past sins, she would eventually join the X-Men, and begin an affair with Cyclops.
After Jean’s death, Emma and Cyclops would lead the X-Men for a few years, eventually possessed by the Phoenix, and would go on to leading their “Summers revolution”. After his death, she went full on villain again, going to war with the Inhumans, and joining with Miss Sinister and the Mothervine experiment. She was recently seen in the X-Men Black oneshot where she rechristened herself the new Black King.

Why the hell would his ancestors have ties to an Elite Club in England? His ancestors were very likely victims of the British Empire. Black Tom joining the NY branch after mutants took over it's different to Banshees family an Irishman from county Mayo having ancestry who were in cahoots with Rich English people who committed atrocities on Irish people for hundreds of years

Donald Pierce: Deposed White King; former White Bishop. Donald Pierce was a wealthy business tycoon, who made his fortune through mining, made his way through the inner ranks of the Inner Circle, until achieving the rank of White Bishop during the seduction of Jean Grey. Secretly he joined the club, and Inner Circle, to kill the members of the group because they were Mutants, but was later ejected from the group after making 3 former Inner Circle guardsmen into cyborgs, they kidnapped Tessa and Xavier, and exposed for his anti-mutant sentiment. He’d later form the Reavers, cyborgs like himself, who would clash with the X-Men for years. He later “died”, at the hands of the Upstarts’ Trevor Fitzroy’s Sentinels, but like all villains, came back.

Yup hundreds of years of oppression is a big deal. To conflate the two while ignoring very well known history is ignorant and stupid. It would be like saying Warpaths ancestors were a part of the American Hellfire club while ignoring everything about Warpath and real life history.

Isn't Betsy already affiliated? I think Warren has Hellfire Club status as well. I think it was revealed way back in the 90's written by Nicieza. It was the conversation that led to them hooking up I think.
