Dani Moonstar: Mirage Appreciation 2019

Dani is a sometimes Valkyrie, she can access those powers at Hela's whim.

Sometimes they're activated at the presence of death (or impending death), sometimes when an Asgardian-based threat emerges and Hela needs a champion.

Basically writers have wanted it both ways, depowered badass normal Dani AND Valkyrie Plus Dani, whatever suits the plot.

Hmm I am so happy they are back.. But Dani and Karma are very commercially drawn. I would have liked a bit of distinctiveness.

Spoilers for War of the Realms #2

spoilers:

So with all of the other Valkyries, including Brunhilde, dead in the War of the Realms, apparently Jane Foster is going to become the new Valkyrie and the solo will be about her because there's no one else left. Does this mean Dani is going to once again lose her Valkyrie powers? I don't think she'll die like the others but now that she has her mutant powers back...

Dani is now the last of the Valkyrior, saved because she was busy with the X-Men and didn't join the fight in New York. And the question is, will something happen to her before Jane becomes the new Valkyrie?

I managed to catch up in Prisoner X and spoilers:

it's possible that the Dani that appears in that book is an illusion that only Bishop can see. Although the only evidence I have so far is the other prisoners by the stairs not acknowledging her when they run away from Bishop

That's an interesting thought. Could quite possibly be the case. Although I'm holding out hope that it's Nate's manifestation of Dani because that is his most recent love/relationship.

But what the heck is happening in Uncanny? She has powers? Doesn't have powers? Has her connection to Rahne back? So confused. And she's back to her Mirage name?
