It doesn't quite feel like she's as important or as inspirational a figure as she was for her sisters circa-Rucka.

Also, Donna is there but I guess they're probably not going to talk. Again.

Is Diana still princess of Themyscira now? Or is she just another Amazon and the one they send out into Man's World?
But Wonder Woman on the Justice League in general can usually be described as a waste, can't it?

I mean, whatever your opinion of WW on the League, she probably wasn't going to get much of a spotlight with Bendis writing it.

In fact, she had zero interaction, I think she appears in two scenes and one cover in the last 3 issues of Bendis. That is why it seems so unfair to me that they kill her in the League after more than a year of not belonging to it.

I'm still generally perplexed why people assumed it'd be a big deal. She was on the team during the Grant Morrison run everyone raves about but was written as indistinguishable from Diana. Why people assumed Hippolyta would be served well on the team that does her daughter dirty on a regular basis is beyond me.

Bendis's writing can also be described as... less than stellar. He seems to love flooding his books with as many characters as possible, only focus on like 2 of them, have them speak in bad/awkward one liners and interactions, and end the plot before it even begins... if there even is one.

Another reason Hippolyta's death annoys me, she didn't really get to be a character after the relaunch.

I mean, with the right writer, the right approach, etc., but obviously we didn't get that.

Right. Joe Kelly's run on the Justice League gave us one of the most interesting Wonder Woman stories and had plenty of other good moments for her

I hoped Endless Winter wouldn't just be ignore and that Hippolyta and Black Adam would have an interesting dynamic because of it...

The only times Wonder Woman really stood out in any modern Justice League comic books were during the Joe Kelly era and during the Dwayne McDuffie era. Otherwise, she written as decorative wallpaper who always need to be mansplained to.

I think Waid used her okay (minus one problematic moment in the first Queen of Fables moment), and Simone with her brief JL run, and there was also Simon Spurrier's brief arc where he wrote her better than the entire JL .

I'm not aware of Simon Spurrier. And I honestly forgot about Simone's run. Also, I can't even remember Waid's run. WOW. My memory. LOL!

Yeah, Spurrier's run. The one where Diana treated the rest of the League the way they usually treat her so naturally JL readers didn't like it. lol.

What moment from Waid's run? I don't care for Queen of Fables, so I don't remember that story.
