Agreed. I wouldn’t mind if he just had the Tattletale powers or even Psi-Lord. Keep the “phenomenal cosmic powers” locked away.

I loved this issue. Never read FF on a regular basis before, but I loved this story and RB Silva can do no wrong in my eyes. Those pages were beautiful!!
I mean when you have an omega level mutant and than just a really smart girl it's not really that difficult of a choice

His family is acting like a stereotypical white suburban liberal ‘Woke’ family Who are ‘fine’ that their son/nephew is ‘queer’, but get freaked out that their ‘precious-perfect-baby-angel’ is becoming ‘too into‘ drag and queer culture for their liking...

That crossover and this issue’s ‘alien beats the minority out of Franklin’ bit, and the fact that his parents don’t notice or seem to care how badly this is affecting him? It all just rubs me the wrong way. I’m sorry.

I get that it may not be the intention, and I get that ‘loss of power’ is a pretty typical trope in comics, but it’s coming across as likely - at this early point (I AM willing to see how it all plays out, mind you!) - that the only person who can ‘save’ Franklin’s minority status is his dad...whose WILDLY unethical experiments on Franklin - all done without Franklin’s knowledge or consent in the first place - may have exacerbated the situation...

That’s HELLA problematic...and I just don’t have it in me to assume the best anymore.
I meeeeean this sh!t too true lol :/

Honestly I don't mind Franklin being depowered at least temporarily. We have a little too many omegas running around as is.It is far better they drip us a few omegas at any one time.Besides Franklin welding the power he does, at least to me is better explored when he is mature not just a kid.Though I speak for myself on that part

I hope he stays human. Mutants only belong in X-men after all.
I only continue to read X-books because I don't spend any money on it.

Not the case. Johnny was just taken aback by the sudden change as anyone would. If I walked into one of my nephews rooms and they all of a sudden changed the decor to something I never saw them acknowledge before I would have a blink blink moment also.

Has nothing to do with mutants.

I hope he dies... Mainly because I'd find it funny.

Also, still with this crap about Sue being a Karen? She ain't even done nothing this issue and last issue she was upset that e got his ear pieced behind her back. Most parents would be upset at that, mine was too. It's not some big metaphor, it's just an attempt to mirror teenage rebellion and how parents deal with it. Some of you are unnecessarily inserting the mutant subtext where it doesn't belong.
In the FF book their reactions to Franklin's actions have nothing to do with being a mutant and everything to do with him being a rebellious teen going through a phase. Take away the mutant aspect and everything would play out exactly the same. It would be the same actions with the same responses which shows this is a teen coming of age story/parenting a rebellious teenager. Not a story about a teen needing to escape bigoted parents or anything like that.

I gotta agree with this some of y'all are just reaching, not everything is a metaphor, all the metaphorical mutant bigotry some of y'all are pushing is a big reach!

It's amazing how many people seem to think that I guess Marvel decided the FF are all bigots, going by the Reed Richards-ass reaches people are making

As if the Franklin didn’t almost incite a war between the FF and the X-Men over his insistence to get into Krakoa? Or that he’s spent most of his time there for over a month by that point? Still making a note of it, this late in the game, is odd and comes off like Johnny is being unknowingly ignorant.

Him being immersed in his own culture is a “phase”? Not every single thing a teenager does is an act of rebellion. Him burning books and starting fights with kids and exploiting his blind aunt-in-family were acts of a rebellious teen striking out. Franklin finding himself with his people, who are all about the strength of community and connectivity, isn’t the same thing.

His culture? Ignoring that "mutant culture" is a relatively recent concept, Franklin has barely interacted with them for most of his existence.

Yes it is a phase. It went as quickly as it came.
It's being treated like one in the book, plus it's about his powers and it always has been. He never cared before his powers started messing up and once they get back to normal, I doubt he'll care much again. It is what it is.

Also the Johnny thing is a role reversal. It's Franklin being like Johnny when he was kid and Johnny now being an adult and not knowing how to handle it. It's him looking a bit at a past version of himself and all the teen angst. He doesn't "get it" because he's older now and that's just what happens.
