If I was over at the WB I would be giving Gunn a call and seeing if he wanted to do a movie for them. Give him one of the minor properties like Metal Men, Doom Patrol, Omega Men, or even Green Lantern Corps.
The audience should start getting used to the fact that these films and the people involved with them aren't a thing that will last forever. Bringing a new director and making the best film possible is their only choice and if Feige truly "can do no wrong" and the film is good then the audience will realize that Gunn is not some cosmic God of writing and that only HIM can write cosmic concepts from the comics because many are thinking like that and that's just wrong and I can already imagine people bitching like there is no tomorrow the moment the Russo brothers or any of the actors get replaced cause it will happen one day.
I really dislike what Gunn did to the GOTG so hopefully he stays far away from any comic book related project.

This is an important article to read because it brings context to Gunn and his comments of years ago.
It also makes this entire situation even more ****** up than it already was.
He won't be invited back.

"I rhyme with tyre - And cause pollution - I think you'll find - It's the best solution: What Am I?"
"And that's the essential problem with 'Planetary' right there. When Elijah Snow says, 'The world is a strange place'... he gets Dracula, Doc Savage and Godzilla... When we say it, we get The Captain Fire-Cock Rock 'n' Roll Spectacular."

An important point to remember is that outside comic book forums and some other things of that sort no one cares.
No one. It's not making any noise. Disney's image is not changed in the slightest by that.
Simple fact is that the general audience couldn't care less about it. (like, for real, as they don't even know)
