I don't think it has anything to do with Diana becoming a goddess, I think it has to do with the capabilities of Diana that has rivalled the capabilities of gods or goddesses. The feats that she can perform are on a god-like level, and she has been consistently portrayed this way for decades, not just by Byrnes but by several creators. The word god and goddess (with a common g) have been thrown around to describe several characters in the DCU who are able to do things which far surpasses the skills and aptitudes of ordinary human beings; it doesn't mean that people pray to them, and it doesn't mean that they are ominpotent or ominpresent as the Almighty. It just means that their strength, speed, and other abilities are in a much higher category than that of regular people.

I highly doubt that people in the DCEU have been praying to Diana for the past 100 years.

Wouldn't the photographer from 1918 keep the picture and pass the stories of Diana's heroism down to his descendants; what about the people who witnessed her flipping a tank and destroying that church? I am sure they all had descendants who Lex probably contacted.

As stated by the guys last page, most of those people were killed in the gas attack. The photographer likely have survived, though even that is not clear. Also some of the German soldiers were probably taken prisoner, but the lines of trenches are only about 50 yards from the town. So they and many British troops were also likely to have been killed by the gas.

The rumours would have been very rare, and this is also pre Internet, so it's all just word of mouth from one person to the next. The story was probably known to maybe a dozen people after the war. I think Lex must have found other more recent clues that sent him digging back.

That's an incredible holdover btw! Its currently predicted for a 53-54 million 2nd weekend! That beats all 3 previous DCEU movies on their 2nd weekend, BVS (51.3), SS (43.5) and MOS (41.2) and they had a higher OW. It should end up in the 30 million range for it's 3rd weekend due to Father's Day but we'll see.

Just saw this movie and it was great, better than GOTG2 IMO. Only pet peeve is WB didn't advertise WW more, at least it seemed that way to me. Seemed low-key compared to SS. Glad it's holding up and hope it crosses the 300M mark.

Simply because people told "tall tales" about an armoured, female "angel" leading the allied troops into battle doesn't mean that those tales were believed.

I don't really see the lack of historical reports about Wonder Woman as being an issue.

Yeah no. Script doctoring is my favorite part of the filmmaking process. And nearly every review I've read agrees that last battle is the weakest part of an otherwise excellent story.

Have you seen it more than once yet? Curious if it might change your perspective.

Thanks for replying. Another thing I was wondering about is that in BvS Diana said she walked away from mankind while this movie ended on a positive note. So something must've happened in between (World War II related perhaps) that made her go incognito till Superman's sacrifice. Hope it will be addressed in a sequel, even though I want it to be closer to the modern time.

They did a mini retcon of this in the final moments. She seems to have only 'walked away' from trying to decide a destiny (end war, etc) for mankind, not from helping or fighting for the world she 'knows can be.'

Has anyone commented about the score of this film? I thought the background music was really on point (one example was the scene of Antiope training Diana). The music was just appropriate for a warrior/super hero film; it was not modern, it was not edgy, it was just classical. Too many times, I have seen modern comic films use what I describe as vomit music, techno fast beating... crap that doesn't jive well with honour, and class, in terms of how I believe these characters should be portrayed. Of course this is just my opinion; I prefer old school musical scores in warrior films, and I got it from Wonder Woman.

This movie was perfect in so many ways; the only great regret I have is that she never flew (as in fly with the birds fly), but it delivered on so many other levels, and is truly one of the best movies I have ever seen.

I've listened to nothing else between viewings. Except at the gym. And some of the songs made it to that playlist too.

WW's theme when she steps into a fray was kinda porno riffy to me, but the rest served it's purpose pretty well.
