Favorite Mini-Series

As said with the reveal of the One-Shots top 3, this year for the first time I did split the category One-Shots and Mini-Series, because there were quite a few of each. They brought us focus on a lot of the fan favorites who did not appear in any of the ongoings, like a story on the New Mutants, a focus on a loving couple who would surprise us later that year, a great story of Jean and Jeen and the long awaited return to the past of the O5, which included a few unexpected turns as well and the return of 2 dead X-Men who came back to live each receiving a mini of their own. So what did you all love the most? Well, the runner up this year was New Mutants: Dead Souls, which received 28 points and was voted 4 times at #1. But 3 other titles did even better;

Well, people on this board might like to complain every now and then, but no one can say nothing happened here. Cable, Bloodstorm and Mimic died, the O5 went back. Ahab was (re)introduced as a major villain and Rachel became what she was always destined to become: A Hound.

If so many fans were looking forward for year to see the real Jean Grey returning, it should not come as a big surprise that this mini was well received. To some it ciould have been told in lesser issues, but hey, it was done in a nice was. Jean is back, teen Jean is survived the P-Force and the P-Force is gone (for now) and at peace.

Who would have known what this mini would lead to? Kitty did send Anna and Remi out to investigate Lavish, a new villain, who messed things up quite a bit for these two former lovers. But in the end, this adventure brought them close together for the first time in years. The story was simple, but very well written.

Dead Souls ended on a cliffhanger and had art that made Illyana look like a New York crack-head though.

I voted for New Mutants: Dead Souls but I understand why they voted for Extermination like it or not have a good art, had some consequences for some characters and finally solved the problem with the O5. In terms of importance exceeds Dead Souls.

Gorham's Yana is fantastic when you can find her eyebrows. Shame they handicapped him with the Mutantz 4 Kidz costume.

Least Favorite Mini-Series

This year we saw some former X-Men return from the dead: Multiple Man, Wolverine and Legion each got their very own mini, or their story was told in several mini's. And even though we were happy when these were announced, they turned out to be a disappointment so some of us. These were these 3 mini-titles that were loved the least;

Somehow most of you did not love any of the Hunt for Wolverine mini series. I did love most of them, except for this title and it was indeed the least liked of all the Hunt for Wolverine mini series. It only brought us another temporary death of Daken (again) and a short come-back of Lord Darkwind and Graydon Creed.

If you thought you would see legion make his return and then explain how, you were in for a disappointment. If you were in for good art, same thing. If you were in for a great story, yeah, I think you get it. On top of that bad art. Not really great at all.

They needed Madrox back to tell his part in Disassembled. But the way they brought him back,... well it could have done much better and also much less complicated. Dupes who were mixed characters Jamie-Wiccan-Cloak and Jamie-Cable-Warlock, really? Jamie versus Jamie, versus another Jamie, It was way to complicated and not well brought to us.

Depends what you call a few. In this category about 35 people voted. Dead Souls was the runner up though.

I also did not add Dead Souls in my top 3, as it was an unfinished story.
