Not until this book. If you look at his history from getting out or prison and going to work for Stark to opening his own business....he was making good. This book comes along and he is always broke and everyone treats him like crap.
The stuff with replacing Nick Fury was in the Original Sin storyline in 2014. Going with the GoTG was in 2017 after Secret Empire because Hydra kidnapped Cassie and threatened to kill her if he did not betray the Resistance. Going after Ymir was in the WoTRs limited Giant Man.

Sounds more like he wants Scott to lead the Thunderbolts...and drag his daughter along with a bunch of criminals who might just sell her out. Most of his crew in that last series was Cons. And Scott needs to be portrayed more as he was before these last series of his. Being a good father, make a go of his business and get the respect he deserves....not be treated like crap by people who just a few years before the series respected him.

I wish he could be Captain Marvel's sidekick or something.
Baby Thanos
most of his crew in the movies are ex-cons. scott's an ex con. I agree that people shouldn't treat him like crap. but that happens whether he associates with criminals or not (see: Guardians of the Galaxy). being a "good" father is completely subjective. he raised a superhero. and he didn't have to be perfect to accomplish that.
all I know is that it's more than he used to get. Marvel knows that he exists. they try to incorporate him into their marketing. he is the biggest face on that Marvel 1000 comic that came out a week or so ago (even though he's ant-sized in the actual book). this is a character who had to sit out Civil War, Secret Invasion, and Dark Reign because someone killed him. but he had a role in Secret Empire and that Infinity stone crossover. he got to carry Emma Frost (their 2nd teamup unless you count them dating in the novelization) and share a body with the Hulk.
it's just one interpretation of his history. I consider myself a scott lang fan. I have all of those appearances (the Marvel Comics Presents, the FF Unlimiteds, Ostrander's H4H, the Iron Man stories, the stray Hulk stories, the Avengers cameo, Johns' Avengers, etc). Spencer took small elements of his original characterization and used them to portray Scott as someone who had screwed up his own life but was trying his hardest to make good. that's not too different from what Geoff Johns did with the character. and it's all in-character stuff. pull up those issues of Iron Man again. Scott was goofing off regularly. he was someone who might pop up to make a funny remark once an issue. he joked throughout his trip through Iron Man's armor. he ran his mouth when they teamed up with Yellowjacket against Taskmaster. he left Cassie on a ferris wheel to help Hawkeye. Wonder man described Scott as having a twisted sense of humor. why do people always ignore this aspect of the character? he's not Danny Tanner. he's Joey Gladstone.
Scott did start Electrolang with Stark's aid. it didn't last long. he had one employee, Danny. but he survived just long enough to get the gig with the Fantastic Four. and every few issues someone would remind him that he's not Reed Richards. or Ben Grimm would take a swing at him. or Kristoff would insult him while cozying up to his daughter. is that the era of Ant-Man that you're pining for?
The ultimate insult thrown by Spencer was in the annual where Hank Pym revealed that the reason he chose him to inherit his mantle was because he was sure that a loser ex con like him would be even more of a disaster than Hank Pym was instead of Hank desiring to give him a second chance.
Sure why not? Cassie would keep Scott honest. Scott is more enjoyable to read when he’s not being a serious hero. Cassie is the more level headed one. Spider-Man is pretty respected and he’s wisecracking all the time. That’s why people love him. Plus he is roommates with an ex con himself. Villains are a lot of fun. Scott has straights around him. Darla and Raz for starters. Plus Grizzly and Machinesmith were starting to show loyalty towards Scott. Those two complimented Scott well. If Scott was portrayed as a serious hero I would be bored stiff reading it. I’d rather read how he gets the job done the unconventional way slowly earning back the respect of others. The Scott in the MCU has more respect than that boring jackass who married his ex.
