James Harren: Layout for page 4 of BPRD #125. Wound up liking this better than the actual page.
James Harren: Raw inks from BPRD#125. Blew it in the inks. Didn't let the blacks speak for themselves. Too much emphasis on texture.

Whoa, lots of set up this issue. Seriously looking forward to what Big Black has in store for Marsten.
Holy crap that splash page
Great stuff!

No one talking about the last issue. The flashback stuff was the highlight. Harren's work was great. Those strange warped animals were truly unique.
Haven't really gotten around to it but that's definitely a run I'm looking forward to. I like all the talents on the Mignolaverse but mr Harren's graphics and panelling certainly stands out to me, as coming from Al Williamson and Walt Simonson kinda horizons both as seeming awesomely new and innovative and crazy cool, to like a Sienkiewicz or Ted McKeever capacity.
One of the coolest Mad Max sort of comic books I'd know would be Jorge Zaffino and Chuck Dixon's WinterWorld - oh and Bolland's Dredd of course, next to Mignola's Jungle Adventure - and for enchanting ruggedness this title seems up to par full-bloodedly.
But then between Unland and In Hell and even a BPRD & Hellboy title of its own I'm kind of feeling to be in the midst of an awesome continuous finale of utterly brimmin' story I must say!

Great issue... and an amazing last page.
Harren at his best.
I love the scenes with Iosif and Varvara... a bit of foreshadowing perhaps. This and Middenway's Hell Note have sparked some ideas in my head to where things may be headed.
