Yeah I could see it as scummy and maybe Moira turns out just being paranoid, but the risk is losing Krakoa.

Yep. Moira (now) and Destiny both want what’s best for mutantkind but they think the other will try and ruin their plans. Destiny is suspicious because she doesn’t know Moira’s endgame, and Moira’s reason... well:

Back in the day, Emma was clearly in the wrong. She used her powers to assault protesters. The protesters were a bunch of idiots but that still didn't call for swatting them down with artificial orgasms.

These days? Emma is the hero, because the X-men have become reactionary and won't walk away from any perceived slight.
