Whenever race-bending of the Johnny Storm happens sort happens, you always get some folks saying, "Oh but if they changed a minority character into white, people would riot!" I'm just like, "Dude, it happens that way all the time."

Terrible, one of not only the worst movies ever made but also worst remakes as well.

This movie is problematic with race issues and sexuality

Well I did the free comic day thing (between filming a 5 hour funeral at TD Jakes's church). I saw more black folks in that store than I seen in the 5+ years I have went there. And man they sure did ignore the new 52 books. I would say overall Marvel, Image, Valiant & the kids free comics cleaned up at that store.

Heard an interesting conversation with the owner and one of the DJ's from a top rated radio station.

The owner was set to give up doing free comics day because folks would come in and get the free books and leave.
So two years ago they decided to do a RARE sale that day. 25% OFF TRADES ONLY-THEY MADE $3k
Last year 25% off trades & 50 cent dollar comics- $4K
This year-25% off back issue, trades and some wall comics. 50 cent dollar books. They made a killing. Nobody left that store without buying something. Even kids.

And from my 2 times there-

New items-
Teen Titans 44-45 (Mal fights gang and becomes the Guardian) (one was free thanks to the discounts)
Batwing 27 (I now have the complete Batwing run)
Young Avengers 12 & 13 (and yes Frost-I'm up to issue 12 now-liking it so far but felt issue 10 was a filler issue)
Xombi 12 (50 cent)
Vixen Return of the Lion 1-2, 4-5. (It was 50 cents-I know where I can find issue 3)
Marvel 2 in 1-Thing & Brother Voodoo (50 cent)
Captain America & The Falcon 186 ($2.50)

I saw some Kirby Black Panther issue but someone wrote on the cover. Even if they were 50 cents.

I think so. It was the black cover with a woman's face.

Well you are more willing to try something when it's cheaper to buy.

The only reason I have Vibe, Batwoman, Batwing, Miles Morales, some of John's run on Green Lantern Corps. Mighty Avengers, Quantum & Woody, Chuck Clayton's run in Archie at Riverdale High, Malcolm Dragon's run in Savage Dragon, Kaboom's Peanuts, Shadowman and Young Avengers is due to bins, comic conventions & sales.

Static Shock remains the only comic book series where I paid cover price for every issue.

I also say this-DC UNDERESTIMATES how popular Wally West, Kyle & Dick Grayson is. I have seen too many folks (young and old) wear out bins for their books.

For a lot of the above I could not find them when many of them first came out.

Miles Morales stayed SOLD OUT. I had to get the hard cover trades. Even his variant cover on USM 200 is gone.
Savage Dragon, Batwing, Batwoman, Fearless Defenders, Movement, Green Team & YA also did it and it actually got worst after Prodigy joined. Static was notorious as a sell out book here (as in gone in less than an hour at one store). If he was in it-you were not going to find that book or trade again. Store owners were hurt when that book got axed.

And did anyone see the new Falcon Super Hero Masher figure? We can't get the movie version but we can get him in that red costume and of course he cost more.

Ms. Marvel is really good. Will be getting Elektra #1 next week, and I've not tried Ghost Rider... but with Mr. Hyde showing up I might give that issue a shot. Are you loving Loki: Agent of Asgard? It's brilliant, and so beautifully rendered.
