What is the basis for your assertion that Dark Empire was not originally published by Dark Horse?

uh... literally says Dark Horse in the bottom corner.

And the British magazine version (Oct '92) is a reprint of the material originally put out in the US direct market (March '91)

I never noticed the Dark Horse icon on them until a similar thread elsewhere pointed it out.

Regardless of the dates on them, the Mags were available first and they got very expensive, and then the regular comics hit the comic shops. I am looking at the receipts from Bulletproof comics in 1992.
