Peter David is also my first thought. After him, Gail Simone (who absolutely MUST write a Catman series!)
Kurt Busiek also needs to return and follow up his Power Company series.

Messner-Loebs. His Flash run is my favorite.
Loeb's was one of my favorite's in the 90's - Flash, Wonder Woman, Doctor Fate, Hawkman... all so good!

Would love to see Busiek come back and do something else for Black Label, really enjoyed his last work with them, Creature of the Night. Preferably not a Batman book though

I have a few I'd like to see again.
    In no particular order:

    Peter David
    Gail Simone
    Kurt Busiek
    Mark Waid
    Bill Messner-Loebs
    Christopher Priest
    Greg Rucka
    Brad Meltzer
    Ed Brubaker

I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

I want Bryan Q. Millar and Fabian Nicieza back and writing some Bat-affiliated books. I honestly like Damian more for hanging out with their version fo Steph and Tim than I do for Morrison’s writing of him.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

    Brubaker.

Messner-Loebs. His Flash run is my favorite.

Peter Milligan. Shade, the Changing Man. Enigma. The Extremist. Bring him back and let him unleash on the DCU.

Matt Wagner. Sandman Mystery Theatre was one of the best series DC ever put out. Bring him back also and let him loose.

While I guess that I can understand that folks are going to want what they want...

Why in the world would Brubaker ever come back to DC or Marvel?

Based on the astoundingly good, ever-expanding Black Hammer universe, which is a love letter to DC through and through, I've decided that Lemire is my pick for JSA.

And if you're a DC fan that hasn't yet read Black Hammer and each of its spinoffs, first read it and second you're welcome. Because you're in for a real treat.

I'd also love to see Chuck Dixon back writing a Bat book and Beau Smith on anything he wants!

Oh, wait, I have not written anything for DC.

    Yet.

Genevieve Valentine - Looking at her Catwoman, I would like to see her take on Batwoman and The Question. She also seems like a good fit for Lois Lane and Oracle. Futuristic political intrigue could be fun.

N.K. Jemisin - It doesn't seem as if she has other titles slated after Far Sector, which is a shame. Space adventures seem to be what she is most interested in, so I'd love her on cosmic Cyborg or Starfire. I'd also be interested in her take on the Bana-Mighdall.

Chuck Dixon returning to Nightwing would be a godsend. Also, I'd be interested in reading his version of Jason's Red Hood

How about Alan Moore? I’m sure they can work out their differences lol.

She scripted some Batman & Robin Eternal issues but I don’t hold that against her.

I don’t think he would. And I can’t blame him. Not only does he have creative freedom but ownership and the financial benefits of that.
