Issue 4 IMO was in indeed better then 3, even seem to work off of 3 in decent ways to help that issue as well, but that is my view, but you have to read for yourself to truly judge if it works for you or not.

I feel the same. Still think this story is an overblown waste of time, but it seems like issue #3 is the low-point.

Indeed I have come to see that happen often in Marvel events either big or mini ones, the middle is always a spinning the wheels or the dropping off point. They can be setups for future story points I get it but in a series that comes out monthly that can be a big drag on your event even for fans used to seeing this.

Most infamous one for me was Secret Empire when the Avengers has the Ultron/Hank Pam dinner, that was just dragged out bad, that is what made me realize this seems to happen often, the drop off middle to Marvel events. Just glad it seems 4 got the wheels going good again for me at least.

The early 2000s. It's when Marvel started to pattern their characters based on the movies and when their personalities didn't fit the continuity.

I like Milligan's run, and I think Austen's run is such a mess that I can't help but look back on it fondly.

X of Swords is my worst. It seems like a writer was just like "Oh I really love Tarot; let's make a story out of it," and no one told them no.

One that really really irritated the ---- out of me? a story I'd erase from continuity if I could? The ending of X-statix. Seriously... they killed off a LOT of characters in the series... and in the ending... almost EVERYONE!!!!

    Then there's.....
    https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/X-Force_Vol_1_113
.... "Several unnamed mutants"..... "several" .... "several"...... The plot is that the Heroes raid a building that's the base of the big bad in that story arc.... He reveals an ARMY of cloned Mutants. Then sends the army to fight the heroes.... who massacre them... and I mean obviously straight up murdering them. The big bad steps in and yes at them to stop... and explains his plan(which is at least semi reasonable actually)..... at which point the "Human" ally of the Heroes turns out to be an LMD who goes nuclear and blows the entire building straight to hell. Then the story gets WEIRD....... yes.. really... This probably got stuck in my head because of how much I liked issues 111 and 112... then the story goes sideways in a direction that made no sense with a completely different bad guy.... with a similar army of some sort of super clones... yet ANOTHER super-tech facility goes up like a nuclear bomb and half the final chapter is told as an epilogue by Domino who claims the team is dead. Then we see Pete Wisdom, and find out none of the heroes actually died.... just thousands of other people. Overall... it was an interesting story... until the plot literally exploded. also the big-bad of the story.... the real-REAL-TRUE-big-bad... is some alien life form that was the cause of Earth having a moon... and... has been living on Earth ever since trying to grow a new body for itself? wut?

    Meh.... might do more later....

Is it too soon to say X-men Green?

Yeah, no one was ever going to take Laura as Wolverine seriously. Giving her the mantle in the first place was a set up to fail.

Oh god, I forgot about that story. The wrap up to the "traditional" OG X-Force was so bad. I get they were wanting to be edgy and have a huge disconnect both from what can before and what was coming after, but god, it was just so bad. I loved X-Force 1-101, there were some low points sure, not every story was great, but the run was overall solid storyline was (can't say the same for the RL's art), but the X-Force 102 onwards was just trash.

As generally execrable Chuck Austen's run was - pairing Husk with Angel and having them f*ck in midair while Momma Guthrie and the rest of the student body watched is another standout- THE DRACO was the absolute worst. Mystique? Unrecognizable as a character and the plot played out like a porn parody of a Nightcrawler origin. I couldn't even appreciate the interior or cover art by artists who have been competent and more elsewhere...

My X-Men interest waned around #350. Though I was only reading Uncanny, X-Men, and X-Factor at the time. I never followed Wolverine after #75, and New Mutants/X-Force dulled around#25 of the latter. I dabbled with stories like the Brubaker Vulcan thing, I followed AvX through the spoilers, and enjoyed Namor’s stint with the team(s). I’m sooooo far behind on my reading that I have bought all the Hickmann stuff as I want to compare this to his FF, which I thought was excellent, to his Avengers, which I did not enjoy, but I have a love/hate thing going with Avengers since Disassembled. Actually since #376. Though I loved Busiek, Perez, Johns and the whole Return era for Cap, Stark, and Thor as well. As far as X-Men, this being the third franchise Hickmann has tackled, I’m remaining optimistic. I’ve heard some good, some bad. The X-Men for me are about my favorite characters, like Magneto, Colossus, Havok, Psylocke, or Nightcrawler and Storm. I buy the books they appear in. Domino and Warpath too. I’m so far behind that I highly doubt I’ll buy the reboot Marauders book. I’m not a Duggan fan. I’m actually into the Steve Orlando work on Wonder Woman, but I’m looking to cut back, not add titles anymore. So that’s not a draw. I’m not going to be adding much to my pulls, I love Aquaman but I can’t get into yet another new #1. I will decide on an endpoint for Duggan’s X-Men, New Mutants, SWORD, unless Marvel of course does it for me. I’m getting tired of the endless events and reboots in comics, have been for a long time. We’ll see..

Hated Deadly Genesis. Rather than rehab Banshee from his X Corps debacle, they sacrificed him to male Vulcan look tough.
    Terrible waste of his character.

I should mention that Death of X was one of the most worthless pieces of trash ever written. I don't blame the writers, but Marvel for trying to tank the X-Men
