The character has been around for 50 years...6 months is nothing...there was really only 1 storyline in between.

I'm just saying the character seemed a bit edgier beginning in that era...and, as the books became more and more adult oriented, those things started to come through more and more.

So much this. I don't understand how a single PAGE couldn't have been added to a single ISSUE quickly explaining these things on panel.

I see what Bendis is getting at, though. What, 22 pages an issue? I'd leave off some "connecting the dots" if it didn't inspire me enough as a writer to warrant taking some other pieces of the 22 page narrative as well.

Then they came for a z-lister by the name of Exodus and people rioted.
He was the drop that spilled the cup.

But it has some poetic justice that Xavier is dead as is the man that brought him back to life post-Messiah Complexx. Maybe Bendi is closing the ways to how Charlie could return back from the dead.
